I've been working on marketing for my five year plan.
Have also been doing a bunch of reading about it as well. read2.gif
Pretty much everything I’ve been reading has said not to reinvent the wheel.
Find out from your peers what has worked and what has not.

I would love some feedback on what has worked for you and what has not.
Plus some good resources about marketing that anyone would recommend.

Another area of interest is how to market for destination weddings.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

I love this subject... and yet have so much to learn too! Here is a book list that DJ put together for us that might be helpful...

Hey Nathan,
Printed the list and went to library.
They have to order in a couple but I have the majority of them.
Thanks for the information.

And thank you DJ for posting them.

Also.. FYI.. I had a meeting this afternoon with the " Wedding Guide" publications.
They seem to have nice marketing ideas. They are a bit more expensive then The Knot but offer much more.
I haven’t made a commitment to them as of yet.
I will research their market and make a final choice.

Best part of the entire deal is they market destination weddings.

Love it....

Anyhow, I have plenty of reading now for my flight out to Phoenix.

Thanks a bunch Nathan!

Hey Linda! smile.gif Yea! Checkout Destination I do - I think they have a great thing starting up!

Also, remember that advertising is only a small section of marketing...in my opinion print advertising is one of the least effective ways to gain wedding clients. It is useful for other parts of marketing but there are other much more cost effective ways of getting weddings.

This looks kind of cool (a little off topic, but hey...). I've never used it (I don't have 10.4 yet) but I can see using it for something marketing-oriented.
