Here is the process to post images on the forum for others to see and critique...

The key is that the picture must already be on the web somewhere and being that most of you have your own website you can upload it to a directory there and then point the Forum to it and it will show up!

1. Start a new topic or begin to reply to somebody else's post.

2. Type in the question that you have or whatever you'd like to say about the image you're posting.

3. click on the Insert Image button above.

4. A dialog box will appear asking you for the complete URL of where the picture is (EXAMPLE - http://davidjay.net/forumpics/invite_sepia.jpg )

5. Then preview your message and make sure the sizing and text is correct and then post your image!

Let me know if you need any help!

cheers!

If my images are saved on my hard drive in my laptop, is there a way to locate that as a url address or do I have to upload them to a folder on a website? Can we upload images to a general folder on the forum website and link them to that?
davidjay
Hey Dana,

It's not possible for others to view files saved on your laptop unless you've designated it as a server with a static IP address and you leave it running 24/7...and I don't think you'd want to do that so you must upload them to a server in order for them to be visible on the forum. If I were you I'd create a folder in your danasanders.com website and stick your images there. (ex. http://www.danasanders.com/forumpics/image.jpg)

David, I had trouble uploading my profile picture (my "avatar"). The pic size was 150 wide and 100 high. What to do?
davidjay
hmmm...sometimes the forum has a mind of its own...sorry 'bout that...anyway...I'd suggest uploading it to your own site and then just linking to it by going to your profile and typing in the path (ie. http://www.expressivephotography.com/avator.jpg) I think this is the best way to do it but if you don't do your own web work then just email me your picture and I'll stick it on my site for you.

cheers!

I don't have a website. Is there any way to upload through my juno account, when online? ex: if i sent the jpg's to myself offline, then checked them online. Would juno.com/etc.etc. be an acceptable URL path?
Thanks. unsure.gif

Hey Tara! I don't think that will work but shoot me an email with the pics in it and I'd be glad to add them into a post for you!

David,

First of, I "hate" you for starting this blog (now I can't get anything done at work read2.gif ), So THANK YOU for that. Once I get fired I will forward my bills your way rolleyes.gif .

Second, I tried to post some of my pics here, but no one is able to see them. I have all the pics on my pbase account and I followed all your instructions. I can see them on my computer, but no one else can. Any Ideas??
