Long story short. I need to install windows on my new MacBook Pro to run a program I am using for the upcoming church directory. My Windows disc is apparently scratched or something because it hung at trying to copy a file before starting the windows installation. So I powered the computer down thinking that I would simply log into OS X and wipe clean the newly created partition, but since the Wincrash CD is still in the computer, it is trying to boot from the CD and nothing that I press or do kicks the CD out. I don't see anything I can push to eject the CD. Please help, I need to get access back to my Mac and I rather not wait until tomorrow for tech support.

Never mind, I figured it out. Simply restart the computer and press the trackpad button until the disc ejects. This is a forced eject of a disc.

serves you right for trying to ruin your machine by putting win-blows on it!
hehe, glad you figured it out though. you should go get a junker PC out of the trash somewhere and use it for that program, don't put it on your mac!

I know, it sucks that I have to do it but I have no other choice. My main desktop has some problem such that when I click on the receipt button in the program the whole thing crashes. A friend of mine had some last minute personal issues and can't help me and she can't let me use her laptop, as was the plan.
Originally, my MacBook was only going to be showing a slideshow of our best work, a la Matt Antonino trailer, but now that I am 1 laptop short, I have to defile my Mac by installing Wincrash on it, because at about a week from starting the directory, I don't have the funds or other friends with a laptop I can use for about 3 weeks.
But I am glad I got it fixed, I was freaking out last night.

holding the space bar works well. its the only way to get the disk out when its stuck.
holding c loads the disk, but actually on the client theres tonnes of mac os short cut keys. one for each key of the keyboard actually! google apple mac os x shortcut keys and youll be surprised.
best app for running windows is parallels, there are other although this allows you to go full screen, copenherance basically transparent and then theres the mini screen. so you can have both mac and winodws going at once switiching between both appliances. much beter than boot camp and also theres no problem with it. if you need an xp install image just ask me, ill send it to u and u just need to drop it into one folder and enter ur serial for xp sp2 and thats it all done and dusted. let me know

Try copying the disk, sometimes it will burn a new one even though the orginal is scratched. Saved a ton of music cd's that way.
Definitely look into Parallels, I currently use boot camp to load Vista on mine but I do have Parallels and need to install it. I can even use my boot camp partition to run it. there are also programs that can adapt to run it in OSX. I don't currently know the name of them off the top of my head but if you search for "Wine" type programs I'm sure you'll find something. Wine was the linux version but it should get a few hits in google.

Thanx Ross and Paul,
Thankfully I was in a hurry and I borrowed a friend's XP install disc. I was able to load XP on it and it and the program I need are working great. But as soon as the directory thing is done, I am trashing the Win partition. Thanx for the suggestions guys.
