Hey everybody. My father had a heart attack last night. He is undergoing surgery tomorrow at noon to add stents. He has 3 blocked arteries. I just want to ask all of my OSP freinds to please be praying for him. Also please pray for my step mom as she is not taking this whole thing well. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Jason, sorry about your dad's health problems. My dad had what sounds like a similar condition and open heart surgery 21 years ago. I had BBQ With him a few days ago. He's still here, and medical science has come a long way since 1986.

My dad had a massive heart attack in Nov. of 2005. He had a 5x bypass surgery, and the recovery wasn't easy. But please tell your dad that after a few months of tough recovery time, my dad is living life larger than ever now. He feels better now than he has in a decade, he says. He and my mom now go hiking every weekend, and last year, they hiked through the Italian Wine country, and through Greece as well.
I'm telling you all of this, because the recovery process is long and slow, but as long as he and your family know that it WILL get better, you will be able to make it together.

Thanks Carrie. This is exactly waht we are hoping for. He has felt bad for about 6 months. He's very active and in the woods all the time like you just described. Thanks for your encouragement.

Lord, we lift up Jason's dad up to you. It is scary even just to think about heart attack, let along to experience it. We ask you to watch over Jason's dad as he goes under the knife and for you to guide the surgeon's hands. Lord, also bring comfort to Jason's step mom. Also to Jason and rest of their family. You are The God that heals. We believe Jason's dad will be just fine. But at the end not our will, but let your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

My father had a heart attack several years ago, and is doing very well today. I pray that your father heals fully and quickly, and that your family (especially your step-mother) receives all of the love and support that you need at this time.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that Jason. I'll pray.

Just wanted to update everyone. My father is now having open heart surgery and not stents. We chose to seek some other medical opinions and the other opinions believe that a bypass is the best way to go. It looks like surgery will be early tomorrow morning. Please just continue to pray us and abou the decisions that are being made. Thank you.

My father underwent surgery this morning. He ended up having a quad bypass. He seems be doing well. They let us in to see him before they even took him out of his sleep. It was so hard seeing my Dad laying there with all of those cords and tubes coming out of him. He's always been very strong physically and mentally so it's tough for me to see him this way. They will be bringing him out of sleep in the next little bit. At that time they will be taking his breathing tube out and taking him off the respirator.
