Well, I just got back from Austin! Thanks all to those who offered to help when I needed a shooter. I actually had a last minute OSP friend fly in from Florida to help out and I didn't end up needing anyone else.

The wedding was phenominal! It was at a Private Estate (a mansion, 11,000 sq feet) in Austin, TX. The Bride... beautiful. The Groom... very good looking and very in love. When all that comes together you can help but get amazing photographs. I was so happy with how they turned out! Here are a few of them, the rest are on my blog.

I used a Canon 16-35 2.8 for the wide angles. LOVE that lens!!! Oh yes, and on a 5D... that is the key!

Kimba, you did an amazing job. What a great eye.

I can't believe that she didn't hire someone here in Austin. Oh well.

I do have one small comment - the distortion in some of the portraits is a bit distracting and does make the brides face look a bit irregular. I haven't seen anyone else comment on it, and I guess it's just a personal preference.

This is her good friend that got married and hired her. And tell me if I'm wrong, but I think the bride's face just looks like that - I think she looks beautiful and unique!!

Michael,

Thanks for the compliments.

As Stacy pointed out she is one of my good friends and has been following my photography for years... I was her "dream photographer" and it was an honor to come photograph her wedding. I actually have quite a few people who fly me out to places when they could have got someone local, because they have seen my work and like it! There are a ton of amazing photographers in Austin.. that is for sure... and I feel honored to be able to go and photograph this wedding when she did have so many good ones to choose from! Austin is a great city.. you all have a ton of amazing places to take great pictures!

As for the distortion, there might be a couple of portraits that look like they are distorted, but that was the look I was going for and I love them! Thanks for the comments!

Eric,

Thanks. I would love to come back. Austin is an amazing city!! Part of me contemplated moving there after this weekend!!! Probably won't happen, but it is now on my list of possible places if I ever want to move.

I'll let you know if I ever come back. I would love to hang out!

I can't believe I am just now stumbling across these!! These are so GREAT!! What a gorgeous bride and bridal party - the venue is not too shabbpy either. Oh, they just have to love these!

I love the bride's hair - toyed with the idea of wearing mine like that but truly that bride and dress is made for that style. So FUN!
