Howdy fellas, and ladies. Meet Shayla. No experience (gonna work on MORE expressions next time.) But I'm tickled pink (notice the second outfit). Honestly, the end of the session was my best single light / umbrella work ever.

All C&C is always welcome. My light in the end shots was in various positions, basically to her side, and up, like on 1/4 and 1/8th power settings.

Using my Canon 430EX, until my new 580EX shows up later this week. I have still YET to have a double light session, but I'm honestly happy beyond belief with my current results.

Just my second modeling session with off camera lighting.

Anyways... Enjoy the show, =o)

1. There's more of this outfit, but I really like this one. A real smile. =o)

2. Can't take a bad headshot, I swear.

3. We had overcast weather all day, and storms moving through later. The wind kicked up the hair all day. Professional wind machine? Nah... no thanks I've got mother nature on my side. =o)

4. 'nuff said...

5. Harsh flash yes... but people seem to like this look. Why? Don't know... but hey, if they buy, they buy. I have natural light shots as well. Hundreds.

6. Just like the posing on this non - looking at the camera shot.

7. Here's the story on the yellow building. Ever heard of a little company called, Yellow Cab Co.? Local branch here in my small city, and when I saw her outfit, I KNEW where I was gonna bring her. She totally loved it! I loved it! I hope you love it! We shot here, until past dark. I LOVE my portable lights!!!

8. Hello... =o)

9. I like the light and shadow play here... lightstand was brought down and bouncing up.

10. BTW - Absolutely NO post work has been done on her teeth, face, or eyes. Not a vein or sign of bloodshotness. Gorgeous eyes.

11.

12.

13. Trying to break out of the box a little... I think it works.

14. Seen this type of shot a lot of places, so decided to do it myself.

15. Then the wind kicked up and I LOVE this shot. No matter what anyone says, LOVE THIS ONE! =o)

16. I think this is my favorite shot from the day. Just love the angle I took it at, the eyes, smile, background, everything.

17. Having fun! =o)

18. Wow... no smile. I still like it. =o)

19.

20. There's the smile... yay, it's back!

21.

22.

23. Still loving shadows and light in this shot. =o)

Well, that's all the samples for now everyone. Please let me know what you think. I'm open to C&C, so don't be bashful! -tmiller

Thank you SO much!! *HUG* A Human being! Thank goodness!

All kidding aside, thanks... =o) I had a blast, as the enthusiastic comments show. I still can't believe I'm not going to have to do any post work on her eyes or teeth.

Amazing.

Hey Tim,
#3 Great shot! I love the windblown look.

#4 Cool shot...great background. Would have been a great background for some attitude type shots.

#6 Her hand looks really strange just sitting on top of her head. Might have been better with her running her fingers through her hair rather than resting on top of her hair.

#12 Beautiful shot of a beautiful girl. She looks very natural in this one.

#13 Love the angle...love the hair...love the shot

#14 Way cool...maybe crop a little more to the center of her nose/mouth.

#16 Very nice...might be my favorite too.

#19 That is the expression she should have tried with the background from #4

#20 Don't care for this one for one reason...looks like a big head on a small body. smile.gif

#22 & #23 Playful, fun...I like 'em!

Great job! Keep up the good work. You are learning very quickly young grasshopper. wink.gif

Happy Easter...He IS risen...INDEED! smile.gif

Thank you so much for the good C&C. I appreciate it SO much. I'm getting some free prints from WHCC.com with the half crops and the blue shirt one. I can't wait to see them. I did a little glamour blur on them and they look awesome on screen.

I've been working hard on getting all of her shots together to present to her later this upcoming week.

I'll be sure to let you know what she thinks!
