The last three days my 15month old has been miserable. (Hence, so has everyone else) He can't keep anything down and is very grumpy. I've washed all the blankets in the house, his clothes, and my clothes and my hair several times. umbrella.gif
After talking to the Pediatrician's office today, it seems that you are not supposed to give them milk or solids if they are vomiting. Brilliant! I should have known that!
Okay, so now he is uncomfortable, grumpy, and starving. What fun! He is sleeping well so that helps. Great timing, he just woke up. I'm not kidding.
Where is hubby? At the store. After being at the gym. After talking with the neighbors. After being at work all day. Oh by the way, I am sick too. blink.gif
Alas, my 10 year old came home from school today in the same form. Tomorrow is his first soccer game of the season. Of course. wacko.gif

Just wanted to give a shout out to all of the work at home parents (moms & dads) that work their butts off taking good care of their kids, their spouses, their house, their in laws, their bills, their friends, their school & church obligations, and all of the million things that must be done each day, and they still find time to produce amazing photography and find a second to post a niiiiiiiiice wink.gif helpful, friendly, honest reply to a fellow OSPer. urock.gif

Oh, and if anyone has sick kids. You are supposed to give them clear liquids only (white grape juice, pedialyte, propel, etc.) and only 1 to 2 Tablespoons at a time, every hour or so if they can keep this down. Then once they keep it down, they can drink more, then food maybe the in the next day or two and go from there. If they are having problems at the other end wink.gif you should avoid dairy products at all costs. The signs of dehydration are fewer than 2 or three wet diapers a day and the inside of their mouth will be dry, and no tears when they cry.

Have a great weekend. I know I will 51.gif

Oh, that last part is only if they are throwing up. I was trying to put it nicely but I am too tired to spell regurgetate. See, that is just not correct.

At the current moment, none of my kids are sick. But there was a time back in October/November that we went 3 weeks straight with at least one of our kids throwing up or pooping everywhere. They just kept on passing it back and forth.

You know you're a mom when your 2-year old goes to puke and you instinctively put your hands out to catch it because you don't want to clean the mess up off the floor. Yeah, good memories. So good, it makes me shudder.

Hang in there, Lisa. I think my kids have had the sickest year in a really long time this year. At the moment, everyone is fine. Of course, the way things have been going they will all be sick again this week and ruin spring break.

Lisa, I just noticed that you are in Columbus, so are we (ok, really we are in Dublin, but close enough).

Hang in there Lisa! This too shall pass!

One night a year or two ago my husband and I were sleeping. At about 12:00 am one of the kids came and woke us up because the toilet was overflowing. When we got into the bathroom we had found that the tiolet was plugged, and our child had kept trying to flush it, MANY TIMES, so it was overflowing... ok, maybe a better discription would be it was a waterfall coming out of the tiolet... a brown one. Well, here we were, cleaning up this mess with rags and towels and pinesol... laughing hysterically! We were saying... "Could you ever imagine this would be our life a few years ago? When we were young dating, when we thought we were so cool, did you ever imagine we would be up to our ankles in poop cleaning it up at midnight?" Instead of looking at the bad side of it, we thought it was funny....

I wouldn't trade it for the world. Sometimes when I get burdoned down by my 4 kids, I think about what a blessing they are. I have had several friends go through infertillity, and another who has had an early miscarriage, and she has lost a baby at 6 months of her pregnancy. I know these people long for children, and I need to think about that once in a while while I'm down and out!

Thanks for sympathizing guys. We all have been there, several times.

Karen, the hand thing is so true. I was thinking that last night. Next time, I'll just put my hand out and catch it. smile.gif

Lynn - Yeah, right here in Columbus. Go Bucks!! Final Four!! Gonna be a great game tonight.

Kari, I so appreciate my kids. My oldest is 10 and I ended up having to wait 9 years to have another one (for a few reasons). We all would and do give them everything we have and don't ask for much in return. I would rather be with them than anybody else, sick or not. I love my boys!!
And yes, that bathroom story is much worse than mine. smile.gif
