So really odd thing happend this morning. I was charging a bunch of batteries for my 20D and the charger said they were both full (I have a vertical grip which takes two batteries) and so then I popped them into my camera and my camera was still giving me the half battery signal. SOOO frustrating! So what's bad...the camera's meter or the actual batteries? They're a bit old, probably like a year or so.... Any idea? It did this with multiple pairs of batteries, not just one set.....

Musicman...I was having problems with my 20D Batteries as well, so much that my camera wouldn't even turn on (and the batteries were full)...so I went into Samy's and it seems that a lot of 20D grips are faulty. So exchanged my grip and everything is fine. You might consider trying a new one...

Yup, I get the low battery reading even after a fresh recharge. That's a known issue with Canon's battery grip. I think they are working on a fix for this, but I haven't seen any updates on that yet. I'm hoping I can exchange mine, even though it's already kinda old.

Will Samy's replace that for free?

Chris,
they should. There is a known defect in the grip, not positive the battery junk is it, but try it. Talk to Joe and tell him I sent ya!
