I've never been so tired in my life. After the WPPI conference ended yesterday, Ellen and I went out to the desert for a Trash the Dress session. We went to Valley of Fire National Park north east of Las Vegas. It was a spiritual experience. I've never been to a place with such natural beauty in my life. I've posted some photos from the shoot below. After the Valley of Fire we went to the airport for our trip home, consisting of a midnight flight to Cincinatti and a 9 a.m. flight to Rochester. I got home at 12:30 p.m. and took a two hour nap before heading to the studio. That has been the only sleep I've had in 39 hours. It's amazing how altered the world seems on such little sleep. Going to bed before I do a face plant on the keyboard.

Steve - those are great! Really love the cowboy boots shot, very different.

We went out there too - it was incredible. But the park rangers kicked us out for not having a permit! Did you have any problem? Worst part was they told us getting one would be a piece of cake - we then called and they said no more permits until June! Who's gonna shoot out there in June? It will literally be a valley of fire! smile.gif I was really turned off, and plan on writing some letters to the Nevada parks commission about it. i'd be happy to take my money somewhere else!

A photo permit or a park permit? We stopped at the entrance and put our $6 in th box and kept the tab off the envelope. I didn't see a single Ranger while we were there and very few people in general.

Photo permit - we put our 6 bucks in too. We didnt see any people just the annoying park ranger that took up so much time trying to be "nice" i finally said to him. Well - we are losing light and our day is ruined so if you dont mind we'd like to move somewhere they wont mind us shooting. Thanks.

I'm a little peeved if you cant tell. smile.gif

Actually the first three photos were on the road to the park befoe we even got to the entrance booth. I'm glad we didn't get intercepted.
