My name is Robin I just recently separated from the Air Force and started my own photography business. I love photography and have loved it since I was a little boy. I enjoyed the adventures I had in the military but I needed a change and this was what I chose. Ok so I am not completely out of the military (I joined the Fresno Air National Guard as a photographer for them) I didn't want to just throw away 12 years of service. I have been shooting portraits for about a year now and about 6 months ago go into doing wedding and I love it. I have been mostly shooting as a second for my sis thood (AKA Reese) but I am available to second for anyone who needs one. I live about an hour north of Santa Barbara; at Vandenberg Air Force Base (wife is still in the Air Force) I hope to run into DJ one of these days when I am in SB. Well that is me in a nutshell I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here.

Ten HUT! officer on deck. We got boogeys at 9 o'clock - SCRAMBLE!!

ok, I just watched top gun and that's the only Airforce lingo I know. When you drive, do you hear the top gun anthem in your head?

Welcome aboard cadet, you'll earn your stripes here for sure, and if you don't make it, you'll be shipped out quicker than I can spit.

I'm done with the psuedo airforce speak. Gidday.

Hey there Bro~ glad to see you jumped in. You are so silly with the (AKA REESE) comment. And Brent you crack me up...are you always that witty? I will say my brother Rob (his whole life he hated us calling him Robin and now that is what he goes by) rolleyes.gif I never call him that) is a great second shooter to take along and anyone one that needs someone should contact him and help him get his feet wet out that way. To leave a secure job/career to pursue one's passion is a leap of faith (one I am sure many of you have made) and I admire him for that and would love to see his business take him in a great new direction.

I'm not always witty,

Hi Rob(in), sounds like you have a few great war stories to share. A friend of mine is a pilot and a while ago he told me a story about how he crashed a F16, and lived to tell about it. He's now working as a doctor to pay for the plane he wrecked. biggrin.gif

Sounds like an excting job.... so how do you compare photography with the Airforce?
rmeredith
Well lets just hope my hair grows back from less stress laughing.gif . No really it is a lot less stressful then the military. If I didn't get out I would be in Iraq again doing convoy security for the Army (go figure the Air Force protecting the Army). I just love being able to meet new people and just relax for once. Thanks everyone for welcoming me.

Welcome! I am new to posting here, although I've been a member since I took a workshop with DJ in February. It was a blast! I hope you run into him also. He's a breath of fresh air.

Welcome!
I'm fairly new here to the boards too, soo much info and great inspiration can be found here (as you know!)
anyway, congrats to you on your new venture! I'm a military "wife" myself, my husband is a LT in the Navy, stationed on a shore duty assignment here in Raleigh,NC right now! And my best friend is AF, stationed in San Antonio! Ok, enough military stuff..

Anyway, look forward to seeing more of your work!
