the next cheapest place i've found is around $200 for the same thing.

here's a article on a photographer that uses one, check it out

great deal for a great tablet, and if you haven't thought about adding a tablet to your workflow, it can be a great change from only using a mouse (when i'm doing long projects i often switch back and forth), and it gives you much more precise control in photoshop over things like brushes, dodging/burning, etc...

The tablet is all I use. It's such a wrist saver!!! I have the intuos 2 which is a bit bigger, but this size is perfect if you work on a laptop. It's absolutly wonderful for graphic programs. I love the pressure control when using brushes.

yeah it's really great. i've been using a graphire3 for a couple years, now i'm finally moving from the consumer oriented to the professional oriented one.

just to clarify for others to prevent confusion, intuos is the product line name, the number after it is the generation, so intuos2 is second generation, intuos3 is third generation. all generations come in a multitude of sizes.

from 4"x5" up to 12"x19" is available in the intuos3 lineup

it's on my list of things I want.

PW's first though...

I have been using a Graphire for a long time now. When I tried out my buddy's 4x5 Intuos, I was Blown away by how much more precise it feels. I didn't get the "disconnected" feeling that I get with the graphire line.

This is a great deal and I think the deal exist because Wacom is going to go with 4x6 aspect tablets from now on.

yeah, b&h finally just posted on that page that the tablet is refurbished, so that's why it's so cheap compared to the other tablets they're selling. also on b&h you can find the 6x8 refurb for $200

and another great deal i found is the 6x11 intuos3 on amazon for $310 (that's like $60 cheaper than b&h for that one)

too good to be true ...

i have the 6x11 and love it! i find myself using if for everything, not just in photoshop and illustrator. super precise!

that 4x5 is a nice size - i've used the 4x5 intuos3 and it's sweet... you should jump on it while its still available. as long as its covered by a factory warranty (assuming that it's been refurbished by wacom) then there should be no problem.

i use a 6x8" intuos3 and i love it! i use it for absolutely everything... don't even have a mouse on my computer happy.gif

4x5 is a great size! Refurb Wacom's are no issue at all - grab it!! When B&H are back from Passover anyway...

Costco.com has great prices on them too.

I'm going to be getting the 6x11 soon. I have dual screens, so I think the larger size will work better for me.

i ended up buying the 6x11, it goes great with my 24" widescreen, and because of it's size it makes it so i can "draw from my elbow" meaning allot less moving my wrist, which cuts way down on the fatigue when using the computer for hours.
here's a picture of how it looks by my keyboard link

and if you want to see my whole desk link (it's a big unprofessional mess right now, but you can see all i put into making use of the computer more ergonomic)

i also have dual screens, but the 6x11 would be too big for the pull-out keyboard tray under my desk. i have my 6x8 custom mapped into a wider format, not only for the dual screens but because the top part of it sits slightly under my desk and i was sick of hitting the desk with my stylus. anyway, the tablet works great and feels very natural like that once you get used to it.

so yeah, keep in mind the size of the 6x11... it is quite large. if you need something smaller go with a 6x8 and just map it for widescreen.
