Full Version: How to avoid batching duplicate RAW files???

Adobe Bridge is awesome!!! However, I've run into a little problem. I'm doing my batch color correcting, etc. using Bridge, but when I correct a file manually, it creates a duplicate, titled the file name plus "_1" (you're not actually saving work you did on the original file). Not a big deal, except that when I run a batch action in the Image Processor to convert my newly corrected files into TIFFs, the original and duplicate both get converted, and so I end up with a bunch of duplicate files in my TIFF folder.... Anyone know how to deal with this problem? w00t.gif (I had to use that emoticon!)

Hey guys! Just back from a short vacation/5th anniversary celebration... We'll post a link to our blog once we get pics up...

Still wondering if anyone knows anything about this topic?

Thanks!

Hey! Congratulations on your 5th anniversary!!! That's fantastic!!!

Huh...not sure what's up but are you saving the file after you correct it or just clicking done and applying settings to the rest? I think that might be your issue...

Someone finally! clap.gif I'm clicking "Alt" and then the "save" button... The files that I have duplicates of are the files that I did the manual work on... What am I doing wrong? What is the correct process?

smile.gif haha...I'm on a Mac right now so stay with me... but I think you'll be better off forgetting about the "save" button and just opening the image in Bridge (the RAW controls should open along with it) and then doing your edits on that image and clicking "done" ... then right clicking and selecting "copy camera raw settings" - then selecting your group and right clicking again and selecting "paste camera raw settings"

:-) does that work for you?

Hey Nathan,

I agree with DJ. I'm not completely sure I understand what you did... but DJ's solutions sounds right.
Nathan Holritz
Thanks DJ! You were correct! Not that it really matters now that I've got that problem solved, but why the "save" button if you don't necessarily need it? Or better yet, what would be the purpose of the "save" button as opposed to the "done" button?
