Here are a few from last weekend. Kathryn and Andy are an extrodinary couple...dealing with extrodinary circumstances. Andy is in the Army National Guard. Since enlisting a few years ago, his unit has been activated four times. Twice he served stateside in support of the war...then on to Iraq for almost a year...and in a few days he leaves for Afghanistan for another year. When I was first contacted by Kathryn...she was busy planning a wedding at Lake Tahoe (they live in Arizona). Then...after Andy's latest notice of deployment...they decided they wanted to get married before he left. The problem was...he wouldn't know until three weeks before when he get get leave. Luckily, it worked out so that I could be there. The wedding was small...just eleven people ...mainly family. It was a great chance for all of Andy's loved ones to say goodbye. I was amazed that in spite of the circumstances....I didn't hear anyone complain. Andy and Kathryn had only one day together for their honeymoon...then it will be letters and emails for a year. There are many, many families like theirs around the country. I encourage you to seek them out...and if you able... waive your fees. These few days I spent at Ft Bragg impressed upon me how important that the keepsakes we create are to families. Feel free to cc these pics....

Beautiful. I'm glad that you could be there to document this day for them. It will give them both something to hold close and reflect on over the next year apart.

Amazing photos! I don't usually care for the distorted images - but this time it works! And the second photo brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing these with us.

Hey Brady...
These look great! I've been a fan of your quiet and unpretentious work. But I have to say I'm not a fan of the fisheye. I think you could have gotten better shots with a plain ol' wide, but that's just me. Other than that, these are great. The cross shot is so quiet and beautiful that it gives me a lump in my throat.

Brady,
It's awesome that you were able to be flexible and help make their day so special. Nice images, great story. I am sure they will treasure them in the year of separation and many years to come.

Thanks for your comments.
Shane...You're so right about the fisheye....The dome in that chapel just screamed for it. I will be careful not to overuse it in the album.
Amber...This is my 65th post. Ha
Regina....you are my hero. Thanks for all you do!
Erich...Thanks so much. I would actually settle for clever and good looking.

How did I miss this post? I LOVE the fisheye shot..I think it is perfect for capturing the beauty of the church as well as the moment between the two of them.
