Full Version: Printer problems with new dual core macs
OpenSourcePhoto > YA wanna FIGHT! > Mac vs. Windows

I know, PC users are gonna chime in and say "I thought macs were so cool? What happened? Neener, neener, neener...".

But here is my rant: nothing seems to work right with the new dual cores! My old HP Laserjet, which I love; my DYMO 330 label writer. It sucks! There is no new software that I know of either to fix it (checked the sites, even called and talked to the tekkies).

There are so many compatibility issues with the new dual cores. I'm don't know these types of techie things, so it is SO frustrating for me. I just want to turn it on, and have it work. Why so hard sometimes...

Sorry..just a bit of a rant. Anyone else have these problems?

Everyone who owns a computer?

That's why I won't be upgrading to Vista any time soon. It means upgrading lots of things. The only way to do it is to keep your old machine too and slowly transition over.

I know--it's such a pain. I know you use Windows, but I feel like Mac unleashed the dual core too fast. Photoshop wasn't even ready for it! UGh. smile.gif

Another reason I got the G5 instead of a Mac Pro biggrin.gif

Have you tried this download?
http://www.labelcity.com/resources/labelwr...downloads.shtml
Scroll down to the Version 7.5.1 for Mac OS X (INTEL-BASED ONLY).

Also, what model is your HP laserjet?

hi Beth,

I already tried downloading the new software from DyMO. But I'll try it again--this looks different than the one I tried.

My HP is an old 1200 SE laser printer. Oddly, it now works off my apple air port, but now my internet is screwed up. smile.gif

I wish we were closer so I could physically look at it.

I managed to get an HP Laserjet 1020 (Windows ONLY) working on an iBook last month and I don't know how in the world I did it, but my boss (director of technology) refused to believe me until he saw it print for himself wink.gif

What your describing is an OS issue, not a processor issue. It really shouldn't have anything to do with being dual core.

I'd call Apple and have them try to help you out. We have the Mac Pro (quad core) and it works great and prints just fine.
