Full Version: The reason I'm so happy to moving to Indiana

So about a month ago, my husband and I switched our insurance from NY to IN, because we knew we would be moving. I confirmed with my then current NY carrier that this wouldn't be a problem. They said it was ok. I asked my IN carrier if that was all ok to do...they said it wouldn't be a problem. So I happily switched.

Then today I get a letter in the mail saying that for not carrying NY car insurance, my car plates and registration are suspended. If I don't return the NY plates by the end of next week, my license will be suspended.

So tomorrow morning, my son and I are flying to Indiana so that I can register my car in Indiana and get a new drivers license. My son is 7 months old and has never been on an airplane before. I'm flying with him by myself. I have a 3 hour layover in Cincinatti...with a 7 month old. For those who pray, please pray for us! (And for the other people on the plane...my little boy has recently discovered squeeling!)

Oh my thoughts are with you! We recently moved from Utah to Colorado and are FINALLY done with some of those changing states things. I thought I would NEVER get a Colorado license plate, as I had to go back a zillion times.

The most important thing I learned was that my birth certificate (......the only birth certificate my parents or I have ever had) was issued by a CITY not a COUNTY and was invalid at the license bureau So make sure you bring ALL those things with you....and that you have a COUNTY issued birth certificate!

(oh yeah, and my car was registered in my husband's name, so I wasn't allowed to get the license plates, he had to go back & get them!)

and try to enjoy some of the day with your son! this too shall pass! I used to close my eyes & visualize myself in the new house on the deck in the sun with a margarita to get through all the moving trauma!

Awww... safe travels!!! I guess I was wrong when I said early morning flights are usually safe from screaming babies... although, I'm sure your little angel won't be a screamer. wink.gif As long as you're relaxed and calm about all of it, I'm sure he'll feel the same way... to him it's just like any other trip with mommy!
