Take a quick look on my blog at these tea cups. My Blog Picked them up at Wal-Mart in the garden center. They ran about $17.00 apiece. That's my Chocolate Lab in the background. He's only about a foot away. I wanted an optical illusion to make them look regular size. I plan on putting a baby in them for Easter shoots.
Anne
will you take a picture of you holding one in your hand? I don't get the true perspective on how big they are!! they look like normal size tea cups from that picture.
Adam Squier
I think we'll be taking a trip to wallyworld. It looks like they're about 1 1/2 feet in diameter. Is that about right?
woffles
Closer to a foot in diameter. The spoon in the front one is a large basting ladle and the table it is sitting on is made of 1ft by 1ft tiles. I'm at work but I'll put one up this evening holding one for you. You can drop a baby in one with their legs sticking out and their butt down in it. I actually "borrowed" someones 11 month old in the store and sat them in it. They thought I was joking at first when I asked them.
Tess
They are totally rockin'! If you wander on down to ILP, the photogs there have really worked their teacups . . .

nice idea. I wonder if my 2.5 y/o would break it smile.gif
woffles
Tess, I first heard about these on ILP. Lot of good stuff on there also.

Shelby, I saw one picture in there that had a 6 year old sitting in the cup. Not sure how they fit them in there. They are made of thick ceramic. I'd take the 2.5 y/o shopping and sit them in one in the store and see what you think.
woffles
Okay, I have another pic up on my blog of the cup in real perspective. My Blogspot Probably be a week or two before I actually get to use them but plan on practicing lighting them over the next week and playing around with some ideas I have on using them.
Tess
I bought some, too, Jeff! I'd love to see what you've done . . . I've got to put the word out for a baby to fill my teacup . . .

Alright where the heck did you find these darn teacups?!!?!? I went to wal mart today and could NOT find them, I also checked online. What section did you get them? The closest walmart to me is like 20 minutes and than the next one is like 40 minutes!
Lynn Squier
I went and bought some yesterday. At our Wal-Mart they were in the gardening center area. I got the last one of the pink one at ours but they had a couple more of the blue one. They are pretty cool.

show us some pictures =)

Another angry Wal-mart shopper here! I looked yesterday for the tea cups, but I was not able to find anything. I did find a huge margarita glass and a huge martinin glass, but I don't think it would be appropriate to put a baby in one of those. smile.gif heehee

I did find a cool baby blue wash basin. It was in their Easter section that would easily hold a six to nine month old. I have a baby session this Sunday, so I am going to try it out.

I think Jeff needs to go and get all they have at his Wal-mart and we can just buy them from him. Marketing at it's best. Gary Fong would be proud.

I only glanced in the gardening center becasue it was PACKED (on a thrusday afternoon?). Guess I'm going to have to make the trip again today and it better be there sad.gif I even asked someone who worked there and she looked at me like I was nuts. Thats why I never shop at wal mart- sour pusses.

Found it!!

Oh, did I have some fun with this one. Walking around with that in one arm, and a gallon of milk in the other, hanging out in the coffee aisle. You should have seen the look. I kept a straight face the entire time. w00t.gif

Oh yeah, I took the pics by myself on my camera phone. So they aren't too great.

That's too funny. You should have had a big O can of coffee with you also.

I'm told these teacups sell out fast but they get more in so I'd call the garden department before you head out.

GAHHH!!! Alright thats it. tomorrow I'm waking up early and getting my arse down there. Good idea to call beforehand.
AKS
Now this is too funny. I first heard about them on ilp. Then they started to pop up in notice on pro4um and now here. Before long jcpenney and sears will be doing these as well. They are cute, but I have to admit I have not fallen for this prop.........yet!
Sarah Antonino
Those are soooo cool! I must have one.
woffles
I guess the cool thing about these is if you don't like them stick some flowers in them and put them outside!

Here is my picture of a little 1 year old. Shes pretty little so, i dont know how much older would fit in it. She thought it was fun for about a minute. Sorry if you dont see a picture. Its my first time to try and post one!

That's exactly what we did! It has so much character. Jason put it right in the middle of our round kitchen table (non-formal table). It's cute. I don't have a need for it as a "prop" right now and I'll surely kill the plant before I need to use it. No green thumbs here!
julie b
thanks so much guys. its my first ever post. i'm usually too scared to get eaten alive.

I like the kitchen table idea! After i bought it i kept thinking what can i do with it for fun ideas? But this little girl can make anything cute.

julie b
yet another. This little girl is 6 months.

julie b

OK, since everyone else is doing it, I'm caving to peer pressure:

AKS
This was mentioned on another forum, but I got to say, that when you put older kids then the babies in these cups. It kind of looks like they are going potty..... laughing.gif
beez
I'm sure you've all seen the perspective, but here is pic of one with a 4 month old in it.
Adam Squier
I posted these elsewhere, but here's a 3 1/2 week old in one. A little different perspective, for sure. thumbsup.gif
