Full Version: Trouble with Microsoft Outlook and cPanel...

Hey guys! Hope your weekend was a good one! Quick question for any of you that might know and DJ... I'm having trouble since creating additional e-mail addresses under cPanel. The first problem I'm having is that a window is popping up each time Outlook does the "send/receive" funtion to get and send e-mail - that window is pictured below. Even if I save my password, the window is still popping up and making me log on (this is with my new holritzphotography.com account, DJ).

Secondly, Outlook is only recognizing one e-mail account on cPanel, even though I specifically entered the info for each account on Outlook. For example, Outlook recognizes my "info@expressivephotography" address, but it's not pulling e-mail in from my "nathan@expressivephotography" address. Same situation with my holritzphotography account, except that I get the window popping up that I mentioned earlier... Any ideas anyone???

Nathan,

I'm not familiar with cPanel, so I can't help you much there. As far as pulling the email from the info@ and the nathan@expressivephotography.com addresses, the easiest way to do that is to use an alias. Basically, you can tell your ISP to alias the nathan@expressivephotography email to the info@expressivephotography address. That way, when you check your email for info, you'll see both at the same time.

Confused? If so, let me know and I'll try to clarify a bit...

Hey Nathan! smile.gif

It appears that you are having the same problem that you were having here ... but I could be wrong.

I also noticed that you are using your cpanel login for the username on your email account. The username on your email account is your full email address.

Another reason why that dialog box will come up is if the same account is being checked simultaneously at two different locations (ie. phone and computer or laptop and desktop) but I think the username is your issue so be sure to use your full email address as well as the password that you setup for that address to check that account.

I've found that the easiest way to have multiple email addresses is to setup a forwarder from the new address to go to the main address, but with this method you cannot send mail from the new address - only receive.

Hope this helps!

Nathan,

It's faster/easier to access your email accounts directly in Outlook under "Tools>Email Accounts..." It gets you to the same place with fewer steps (especially if you already have Outlook open).

DJ is correct in that you must have your entire email address entered into the "User Name" box under "Logon Information" in your "Email Accounts" dialog box. Make sure this is done for all your accounts.

As far as not being able to access mail from different accounts on one domain, it sounds like it may be a configuration issue on the hosting server end. Make sure that your settings match between your hosting server and your Outlook.

Let us know what happens.
