What is that javascript thing for? Why doesn't it actually show up on my blog? (Maybe cuz by blog background is black? The technorati logo thing that says "blogs that link here" or whatever is invisible. Is it supposed to be? I don't get it.)

That took me something like an hour to do. I don't think it was supposed to take that long. I'm going down for my nap now.

Found the widget!!!!! In technorati, in the faves view, on the left side of the page there's a heading that says "Ins and Outs" and a link to Widget options- YAY!!! The widget creates a blogroll that shows the most recently updated blogs.

Im sooo lost.

I think Garrett and Joy's is wrong. What is listed is http://www.garrettnudd.net/ and technorati couldn't find it when I tried to put it in.

I have them bookmarked at http://www.garrettnudd.blogspot.com/ and when I put that in it worked fine.

Everything else went in with out a problem.

Okay, I think I did it the right way...

I have everyone linked, too, just for the fun of it. I'll be in the next round.

After I added the widget, I realized that those links aren't showing up on other people's blogs in technorati - so now I'm going to ditch the widget and go and create an archival blog post which links to everyone's blog to help them out for helping me out.

So... I hate to even say this... but what about the blogs who don't really participate, and are just getting the free links from others without really giving back?

By the way, everybody, I made a new page on my blog called "Lovecat List" where I'm putting the links to the blogs. I didn't want it on my home page just because it's kind of already busy. As long as I update my lovecat page fairly often, it will get googlized.

You are are getting googlized anyway from my site whenever you leave a comment because new comments have your links in them, and those are on my homepage. I know for a fact that my clients are clicking over to you because they comment to me all the time about the great stuff they see on your sites! My clients hardly ever leave comments.

i guess i was a little confused about this. i went in right away and favorited all 25 photographers on technorati, but i did not link to any of them from my blog. iBlog doesn't just let me cut and paste into a post that nice list you made matt, and to be honest, i am not about to just add 25 random photographer blogs to the sidebar of my website (people would think i've lost it). if i had known that was required up front, i wouldn't have participated, so you can feel free to remove me, but since my blog gets a lot of traffic, and my name gets searched quite a bit, it is probably in the best interest to each individual blogger to have a link to my site still on their page. it's win win.

the funny thing is, i already had 37 blogs linking to mine before you started this roll. i only added 5 since then, so people were either already linking to me, or there are quite a few people who haven't linked aside from the names above.

so if you expand this project, i will certainly long into technorati and add everyone to my favorites, but i am not going to just put up random links.

I do agree that linking to you may be good for people even if you don't link back although it won't be great for their technorati. You're sort of in a good place that way in that it does help people to be linked to you. I will put you on the remove list but let people know that if they keep you, what the benefits are.

ah, yeah, there's the confusion i didn't realize i had two technorati listings. right now beckersblog.com points to the homepage.com... on april 1, the new blog will be at beckersblog.com and the .mac page will stay up as a historical archive.

Ok current blogroll peoples. Here's the update. Becker, Holritz, Scarlett (captivating studios), & April Rocha have not updated their lists. If you would like to remove them, that's up to you. If you want to randomly get hits from people googling becker or the rest feel free to leave them. If you want the exchange to be reciprocal only, go ahead and remove them.

Round 2

It's going to start getting confusing. So here's my idea for the *best* plan.

I'm going to post the people who are in. Everyone from Round 1 and Round 2 should add EVERYONE from Round 1 and Round 2. That's ideal.

When I get back from WPPI, I will go through and let everyone know who's updated what rounds - so if for instance Jillian only keeps the Round 1 people on her list I'll have a "did not add round 2" list and if Floyd only adds Round 2 people I'll have a "did not add round 1" list so you will know whose list you are on.

The idea is for everyone to add everyone - that's the best. So let's try and make that happen.

In round two, there are two blogs with short text, not as many letters on the line as the rest. They didn't work, like the blog was not Technoratied yet! I think.
