Ok this thread was getting really confusing from the poll, the explanation, all the code, so I moved all the relevant info here:

Ok that's 25. For right this minute the first round of this study is locked up. If you want to be in on the next round assuming this works, email me your blog address. Pls don't post new ones below.

Ok, so we have the link exchange and we know how that works right?

What I want to do is create a blog link exchange or "blogroll" for us. This will TREMENDOUSLY help your blog's search rank and how you come up when people search things you wrote about.

Interested, let me know. We get 20+ in this, we'll get it setup.

Ok so here's where we stand as of today.

Technorati ranks blogs according to the blogs that link to them and the number of links. The higher on technorati you are the better.

10 blogs - Jason Tench, Candy, April Rocha, Stephanie, Corey, Kari, Kendall Price, Joy & G$, Nat L and Jennifer Grigg - are all at rank 2,856,595 with 0 links from 0 blogs.

8 blogs - Jules, JenniferImages, Leann, Eric Hegwer, Lucky Red Hen, Frank Dimeo, Andrew Schaefer and Chris U - are all at rank 1,822,088 with 1 or 2 blogs linking in.

Of the other 7, Becker is the highest ranked blog (no surprise) at rank 111,887. His blog is linked 95 times by 37 other blogs.

So the difference between 2.8 millionth and 111,887 is 37 blogs. We now have 24 other link partners. Assuming we add nothing else, the 25 of us should all move up DRAMATICALLY.

SO the next step is to go to http://www.technorati.com/ and claim your blog. Create an account, put in some info in your profile, etc.

Then favorite EVERY blog on our list.

The next step is I'm going to create a link code for you to paste into the links section or blogroll section of your blog. I'll help those who don't know how.

Then we wait a day or three. If it works and we rise, we take more bloggers on. If you want OUT, let me know - but I don't suggest it. lol

Technorati ranks blogs - basically it's like Google for blogs. It tells you EVERYTHING about who links to you etc.

So we're going to improve our Technorati ranking because that's a good thing.

To do that, we need incoming links and favorites. If we add each other, we get incoming links.

If you have 0 links from 0 blogs you are 2,856,595th highest ranked blog.
If you have 95 links from 37 blogs you are 111,887th highest ranked blog, which is better.

So if all 25 of us that are on the list add each other, we will move much closer to 100k than 3M which is fantastico.

Ok, I signed up for the Technorati site. I claimed my blog. But now I don't know what to do with the info above. I think I need to add it to my blog... but I don't know how. Do you want it to apear on the side? I think I need to copy and paste this into my HTML template code? Someone tell me what to do, and how! I am not very good with HTML, so please go easy on me!

Kari....are you on blogger?? the new beta one???
If so, go to layout, click on links, and add just the http://whatevertherestsays and the click on add link.
This will put it on the side of your links.
You'll have to do each one at a time.
This is probably the slow method, but it worked for me.

Yes.....the code technorati gave you....do the same thing.
Click on add page element, then click on html/java and past the code there.
That's it.

Ok, I did figure out how to put the links in, but here is what I am wondering. When I look at Jenifer's blog, our names appear. When I look at mine, the web address appears. Why is that? Did she add something to the code to make our names appear, or did I do something wrong
