I don't know... it's gonna be pretty hard to get some awesome shots in Paris in the spring.
If you REALLY need me to, I could go along and try to help you.

Okay--
I have only a senior session I did and her dress is a bit vintage and we took pics in a historic area....
Taking the pics in Paris will probably stimulate the artistic photographer in you! Either that or watch "Funny Face" (I am TOTALLY and old movie buff!!!)

That's a great opportunity - I'm sure that some of would kill to be able to go with you! I don't have any examples to post - but the ones that have been posted seem to be headed in the right direction. I might would look at some historical books - maybe that would help with some ideas.

Do you know what she means by "vintage"? There are so many ways that can be interpreted. Most of what will make it appear vintage is out of your hands - her clothes, hair, and makeup will go a LONG way to creating the effect she wants. Aside from that - a little post work and dramatic lighting will be all you'll need.

Thanks Lisa!
I used a vintage LR effect on the e-session pic. We shot a wedding on New Years that was 20's themed (seductive bride pic). She had great make up and hair...unfortunately the hair fell flat as the evening progressed. Her dress was very vintage too.
So to ditto what Anne said, hair and makeup do a lot for the "feel"! Matt A's got a great vintage action! I also use kubota's (sp?) secret formula B&W effect.
*dang it! I'm logged in as my hubby again!!!

Oh Rachel, it is you with the pics...I thought it was Chelsea already posting her images.
But, I love that your bride gave the vintage look a go!! I personally love the old time hair and dressing!
I think that Anne is right....Chelsea you will do just fine!

I just saw a post with vintage-y pics on the blog of a local photographer here in Austin - they're pretty great. Look at her most recent engagement session!

it would be really cool to shoot with a leica in Paris or any vintage style camera and some expired film to get that old time look...they would be thrilled to see you bust out an old school camera with a polaroid back or something if even just for a few frames.
you can probably pick up a used beater camera from a pawn shop for real cheap....or rent a medium format camera just for this shoot....heck...even a holga might yeild some cool results.
Your gonna have to post the pics when your done;)
