So, I have to say that I am totally impressed that you didn't lose your cool. And thank goodness your lens was okay - woohooo!

I really do wonder if you could make a spike strip for the counter - that would come in very handy laughing.gif

By the way, I couldn't see any pictures at all on your blog - not even your top banner-thingy.

Oh no!! Are you serious!!?? I hate blogger! I haven't been able to sign in for almost two weeks now, but I figured out that if I posted a comment and signed in (to post it) that I could then go to the dashboard and make posts. UGH!!! I don't know what to do. Sorry for the rant! Thanks for looking and the heads up!! smile.gif

What a story!! I would have been crying too! If that was my 24-70 or something of the like, I probably would have gone ballastic after the tears were done! Glad your gear survived, works well, and now has that super stealth quiet mode! laughing.gif

I have been using only Canon gear for 30 years now, and my F1, AT1, A1, A2, D30, and 5D camera bodies all still work, as well as all of about 15 lenses or so. Never had service on any of them!!! Of course, none of them have been dunked in cooking spray!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad you shared this...just in cast my L glass and cooking spray get into it I know who to put my money on!

Seriously cool story...and good to know our "L" dollars are well spent!

Did it focus faster with all that added lubrication? wink.gif
Glad to hear the lens is ok.

Wow pretty scary. Glad it didn't hurt it. Seriously though. The glow effect from the cooking sprayed glass is kinds neat.
I suppose PS is a safer way to add a glow though.

You should switch to wordpress, they have a great blog platform... thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the comment on my blog Mike! smile.gif It was scary!! The whole time I was cleaning it, I was trying not to barf. Oh well. All's weel that ends well. Oliver is so cute I can't really get mad at him anyway, and I will now forever trust the sturdiness of my L lenses. smile.gif

Wow! That's a terrible story!

This is EXACTLY why I'm not a parent yet! laugh.gif

Does L really stand for Luxury??? I always wondered...

I only have one L lens...maybe I'll get my second this year after my new iMac.

Accepting donations for the "Help Matt get his second L lens" fund...

... everytime I zoom in and out more grease shows up, but it's less every time and now it's super quiet!!!

You may be on to something here thumbsup.gif

Hahahha... moms+cameras=winning combination! My 5 yeara old spilt POURED an entire can of coke over my 24-70L... and it magiacally survived!!
Your story+photos are awesome!!
Tess
Wow - I gotta say, I almost barfed when reading your post . . . . well done, Mom (notice the capital 'M')! Glad your baby is OK, oh, and the lens, too . . .

Scary!! I left a lens on a table once at a wedding (it a bridal suite - there wasn't food on it or anything) and turned around 1 minute later to find some kid pouring salt down into it. Yeah, didn't work after that sad.gif But it wasn't L-series so I wasn't that devistated...

*mental note to self: don't leave camera sitting around kids and cooking stuff*

Crazy story - glad it's a-okay!
