Hi guys...

Thanks for the advise.

Thanks Corey. The Flip-It looks good. The only thing I noticed was the small shadows on the sides of the subjects.
Do you have the link of the product you're talking about?
Thank you.

as for the shadows, IIRC the flip it better established direction, rather than full frontal flash, which is really nice.

I use Flipit ALL the time. I have the one with the extra opaque plastic diffuser that velcros to the front.

It's very versatile, cause you can quickly push it out of the way to bounce off ceiling or walls, then tilt it back and forward to adjust 'fill'. It works really well outside too.

It's extremely lightweight, NEVER falls off, quick to put on and off, packs flat in your bag....not very expensive, very well made.

AND at least 3 people at every wedding will ask you..."what's that....and what does it do?".....so it's also great for meeting new people!!!!! ha ha ha

I LOVE mine!

Hey there!
I've got a demb and a clear lightsphere. The DFD pro which i have is nice if you're in an area where bouncing off of the celing isn't possible. Also shadows do add depth and you can add and reduce power as needed with the flipping back. It's a solid product. The lightsphere is good too nothing wrong with either of them and if you flip the back all the way down you've got a great diffuser that'll give similar results the the lightsphere. And don't forget there are occasionally times to want a shadow around a subject. for a sense of depth or if you plan on blacking the background anyway. It's a solid investment but in the end it's up to you. I got mine right from Joe Demb's store and he's really nice so if you have any questions feel free to send him an email.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Corey for the link.

Annie, thanks for the info. I noticed Demb also have the plastic diffuser infront of the flip-it, did you buy that seperately or part of the package?

I have the big (4 inch I think) flip-it and it came with the front diffusor. Very versatile with the hinged movement. You can throw more or less light, fits all flashes with the velcro straps. I really like mine. It also folds flat and will fit in your pocket.

Thank you all for the input.
What's the downside of this product?
Is it the same like other diffuser? Is it easy to break? Is it accurate....etc?

This is a great diffuser. If I were you though I'd really just use an old milk jug. wink.gif

I actually tried this thing out and it worked great. LOL

i now use the flip-it and "the bounce tunnel" I stole this from Cory Parris. Its basically a snoot that you use to bounce your flash off of walls and ceilings for a dramatic directional lighting effect. Made it myself out of velcro tape and a 99 cent black plastic binder from staples. Have fun.

The best part about the flip it is that you can adjust the amount of fill needed. This makes it easy to get rid of all shadow cast while still providing a little bit of fill for the eyes. Just bounce it at the ceiling and direct a bit of light forward. Sweet product, I'd get it. I hear the ligthsphere is good, but not in all situations. Good luck.

I'm telling you go with "the jug"

Thanks for the input though.

I don't think you could break this unless you REALLY wanted to! laughing.gif

Downside...sorta... It won't substitute for a bracket, if that's the look your after! No matter how cleverly designed this is, the elevation a bracket gives just can't be reproduced with flash on camera. I know this is obvious, but I thought I'd say so anyway!

Best thing I have ever bought for lighting was the Joe Demb Flip It Diffuser System.

I own the Pro, it's awesome. Joe answers his emails quickly, and personally.

I can't ask for more.
