Do you use the same contract for a wedding and engagement session or do you have a separate contract?

If you use a separate contract, would you mind sharing it with me?

Thanks!

I don't know. smile.gif I just have seen it before. smile.gif
I put it there because I am interested to get the same info too. But, I think, it means "I concur".

That's right. "+1" means "me too."

+1000 means "me too a lot"

+943,286 means "me too and I really really really mean it."

I use a contract for my portrait sessions that is different from my contract for weddings. But my contract for weddings incorporates the e-session, so I'm not sure if I have what you're looking for or not.

My weddings all include the engagement session, so it's included in my wedding contract. The important things (model release, limit of liability, etc) are all covered in the wedding contract, so I'm not sure what good a separate contract would serve, unless there is something specific you're worried about with regard to your engagement sessions.

I was unsure if I should include it in the wedding contract since not all clients take engagement photos. Do you suggest I just add it to my contract?

Not sure how to answer you -- I include an e-session in all my packages. I think it's critical for my personal style to get to know the bride and groom before the wedding day. I have to know them and they have to be comfortable with me. I've found that guys in particular don't trust me until AFTER they've seen themselves in my pictures. So, in order to get good pictures on the wedding day he HAS to trust me right from the first moment I'm there in his face with my camera. He has to know my name and call me by name and trust that I'll be his friend and that I'll help with whatever he needs help with.

I don't want him to think of me as a vendor. I want him to think of me as a member of the bridal party!

Of course, same goes for the bride, but most women trust me easier than men do. Don't know why.

So, I have it in my contract that they can't substitute the complimentary e-session for something else, and they can't get a credit if they don't have one. It's not negotiable.

That said, I have a pretty standard lifestyle portrait contract that would work just fine for an e-session. if I ever did an e-session and wasn't doing the wedding, I would use that.

If we shoot an e-session for a couple that we are not doing their wedding, we use our normal portrait session contract. We have seperate contracts for portraits, seniors, weddings and commercial. All worded a bit different.

I use my portrait contract too. All it is is a form for them to fill out with their info, and a model release.
