I shoot Canon and am looking for a carry around camera / smaller.
I am looking at the Canon G7 (I like the canon flash mount, wish it had raw) and I am looking at the New Olympus 550UZ with raw and 18X zoom, but it is a bit bigger.

i got the G7 after playing with DJ's and it is cool to be able to put a 580 on it, and foof a little so the flash pictures don't look too flashed, but i am telling you, anything over ISO 200 is absolutly unusable. the shutter lag sucks too.

this guy comes out next month and it may become my P&S, that way i can shoot little movies (in HD) and take 7 MP snaps.

I love my G7 camera, the video is awesome too..

I bought this $39 <A href="http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/531660801.htm" target="new">Quantaray QB-350A</a> small flash and put it on G7 ... works great smile.gif

I've been thinking about the same Canon as [b], but I'm not sure about the vertical orientation yet.

Here's an interesting article I just read about a photojournalist that uses an Olympus P&S as his primary camera

I had the G3 and I loved it. So I can only imagine what the G7 might be for just throwing in your backpack/coat/or just carrying around. It might be a little on the big side if you are not wanting a "deck of cards" size camera, but if you are used to an dslr body then it might be right for you for just playing around.
