I'm curious to get some feedback . . . when you send out information to existing and prospective clients (e.g., pricing, contracts, etc.) how do you do it?

Do you send the info as a web "link"? For example, brianfoxphotography.com/investments?

Do you send it in an e-mail as a Word document?

Or, do you send the information in an e-mail as a pdf attachment?

I'm curious . . . I've been sending the information as an attachment in my e-mail messages but I don't know if that's the most effective way to get the information out since everyone has different computers with different software, etc.

Thanks for your input!

lately i've been talking to people on the phone and then sending them a contract... i don't have any other materials beyond that, except for an exclusive wedding planner price list smile.gif

Make it a PDF. That way your fonts and layout stay the same and it is almost guaranteed to be compatible with your clients' computers.

If you have a Mac you can just hit Print > PDF > Save as PDF. For PC you can use CutePDF to make PDFs for free -- without Acrobat!

.pdf file is pretty much universally accepted on every computer out there these days. If the person has any issue with it, I'll mail them the contract/price info instead.

You know, I had no idea you could make a PDF on a Mac from the print menu! That was one huge piece of advice that helped me tremendously! And I was about to sign up for Adobe's "PDF Create" service, too. Whew! clap.gif

Thanks, Damon!

I also do the PDF thing. Basically if I get a contact via emil I send the person a friendly message about our shooting style, the type of people we are, and our info pack which has all the package info and contract so they can read it over before meeting. Basically I feel the more info they have before you meet the better, that way they have lots of time to think of any questions they may have smile.gif

All my pricing is on my website. 99% of contracts are signed in person in my home.

I like this approach. I have always felt that an informed and educated consumer is the happiest consumer.

I also send PDFs. Even the information that is available via my website is in PDF format. It's most universal, small in size, and easy to view and save for everyone. And my fonts stay exactly as is. And no one can make changes to it (in comparison to Word documents)
