Hello all! The lens baby is one of my favorite lenses... just wondering if anyone has used the newer version & noticed a difference? I want to get some feedback before making a purchase smile.gif

Thanks!

They're both great. Different tools for different functions, to quote Tim Halberg. LB 2.0 provides better optics for sharper focus. LB 1.0 has a better price tag and a softer/fine art feel. I pull mine out with regularity. It's a fun little deal.

I don't have one yet but I'm looking into it as we speak. I tried one out at Precision Camera & Video here in Austin, did'nt buy though, I'm interested in the Lensbaby 2.

Seems to be a good deal. biggrin.gif

Why the lensbaby 2, Carlos? Just curious -- what was it about v.2 that you liked better??

I bought one last year and seem to have problems working it on my digital canon 20d.... is that possible? Could it only work for film?

Actually, my LB2.0 just came in the mail today! I'm a bit of a nerd (big surprise to everyone there) and read the little instruction booklet that came with it. It does state that LBs don't interface with digital cameras; you have to "focus" manually -- I don't think that digital/film would be any different since this is (essentially) just a lense that focuses your image onto a surface (sensor/film/whatever).

If you had more specific problems, people way more knowledgable than me might be able to help, tho??
Tim Halberg
Naw, these puppies work awesome with digital. Your camera will display no aperature option, so you need to be in like manual mode or shutter priority mode or program... and maybe some others (some cameras will automatically switch to program) and then you have to select the shutter speed. That's the only thing that is affected. Otherwise you should be able to just shoot away.

yeah these are pretty neat toys. I love the pics Tim posted up a while back. Those were sweet! I've got the v1. I would probably recommend going with the v2 if you're trying to decide which one to go with. The lack of overall sharpness bothers me just a little bit on the v1.

Anyone with a v2 who wants to trade? As Dane said, the v1 has a real "fine art" look to it....
