I am looking into fotomagico and would like to hear from those using it what is their general experience with the program, how is the quality of the TV output compare to Iphoto, and anything else you can tell me that you like about Fotomagico.

I have SIW and what I like it for web slide shows I need something I can produce quick and high quality slide show for clients' TVs.

Thanks.

Hi David,

since Rick is the current expert on FM, and is at the PMA convention, I'll try my best to fill in.

FM and Iphoto produce similar results... but I hate one thing about IPhoto... Apple thinks we need to copy all of our image files to our main Pictures directory on the hard drive. I have a MacBook Pro with only a measly little 100 gig hard drive. I don't have room to keep copying files into the Pictures folder.

Yes, I can delete them afterwards... but I don't want to have to keep copying files then deleting. I'll screw up and delete the wrong folder sometime and hose myself.

In any DVD software, the secret to sharp images on TV, we've discovered, is to run an action to resize the images to 1440 px, and then run a plain sharpen action twice on the image. This oversharpens for normal computer or print use, but looks great on the screen. I don't have an HD TV yet, so I'm not sure if this is the best method for HD display.

You can see what's up with FM 2.0 at this Link. Hopefully, someone else with more knowledge of IPhoto's system can chip in here as well.

That helps a lot! Thanks. While Iphoto does a good job, I have notice that the TV quality is not as goodd as it can be. One of the things I am looking is what FM TV quality compared to Iphoto. I think you have hinted something.
