Full Version: BrideFreak - official release

Ok for about the last week I've been FLYING with this idea I had. I wanted to implement something like Graphistudio's order tracking into Picture Infinity. We get a lot of "when will my proofs be ready" "Where's my album?" "I didn't know that was due?" as I'm sure a lot of you do.

Soooo I did something about it. I took an opensource task management program and transformed it into something we can *use* to make life easier and make those questions disappear. So I created this thing we call BrideFreak.

First of all, your brides will NEVER see that name - so don't get freaked out about it. laugh.gif It's based on the program Taskfreak so BrideFreak worked. Anyways - there is a lot of info about what clients will and won't see - as well as a demo now.

http://www.bridefreak.com/

ALL the info you could ever want about BrideFreak is available now. Pricing, tweaks, hosted Freaks, everything.

If you don't want your brides to see all that info - no problem. BrideFreak can function as an online to do list just for you. All the features would remain the same except you wouldn't create client logins.

We have priced this at a point where I'm able to spend any more time on it - $145. If you don't want to do the initial data entry, we can do that too. However, data entry services will more than likely be removed May 31st as we won't have time during wedding season.

AND - there's always an OSP discount! I'll take $50 off for any OSP/DWC members.

BrideFreak is available on a limited basis - I will only offer this service while it does not interfere with our core wedding business. If you want in, you should let me know asap. I have two of these to setup already and expect to do as many as possible before WPPI.

Wedding season is right around the corner - don't get behind before you get a chance to look at the site. It's definitely not right for everyone but if you need to get organized, you want to improve your client relationships and basically you see what I see with this, well let me know! smile.gif

Thanks for reading this far! haha

This system is similar to something I have planned to release mid/end 07.

I am really curious to see how well this is received. It seems alot of people are still using the whiteboard or excel method.

It would've saved me a lot of work if what you had was already out. I didn't really want to design something ground up - I just want clients to be able to follow along. heh

So far so good as far as how it's received. I have three BrideFreak's going up this week and next. I will probably only take 3 more pre-WPPI just because of time stuff so ... smile.gif

So, what's the difference between Bridefreak and Taskfreak? I'm not really seeing the difference, and Taskfreak is free and Opensource.

I see that you've removed all the branding of Taskfreak, but other than that....

It's a customized, branded Taskfreak with me installing it and doing the backend work. As it says on the Bridefreak page, it's a service, not a program. I've posted in almost every post about this that it's taskfreak - the software IS taskfreak. Taskfreak's license says:

"Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software."

Taskfreak is free. If you can install it, get it working for you, learn it, modify it to be branded, add your workflow and so on, go for it. smile.gif I highly encourage that. Some people wanted me to do that work and unfortunately it takes time so I've put together a service for it. I'm not selling the software.

Taskfreak has stuff that we don't need, like the COM column and gives users too narrow of a Project column to set it up for weddings. It's not branded very well. All the adjustments and such just make it more useable for wedding photogs.

i'm one of those people who make lists at night so I can rest easy knowing i haven't forgotten anything....

(edit-and for me-I love that it is not a subscription service)
