Haha, 10mps down and almost 1mps up?! That is pretty fast Nate!
I'm on a satellite but I just got the fastest speed I have ever gotten at 610/227. Normally I'm at 500/100; it is the price I pay for living way out in the woods. And it doesn't measure satellite latency. Every time I click a link there is an almost 2 second delay until anything happens and only one thing can download at a time so loading a flash website takes 2-5 minutes. Nice.

Booyeah! Actually I'm at work... I wish my home speed was that fast, at home I usually get

Yup. I work in television and we have a direct fiber conection with an ISP that is less then a block away, its stupid fast especially on evenings and weekends when there is no one here.

I get 4926 down and 352 up... is it totally wrong that I'm paying like $50 per month for this sorry service?
MattA
You should have a faster UP to upload images anywhere.

I would say so. At home I pay $35/cdn so $30/usd

5192 down and 1827 up on my laptop w/ a wireless connection.

5192 down and 1826 up on my desktop wired.

if we paid a bit more it would be faster but the FIOS is at least twice as fast as teh cable connection we used to have.

My Comcast connection is snappy in use, but not very fast in uploading, they really clamp down on it to try and get home office users like me to pay for their business class service....

As long as you have some sort of 'broadband', then I find that the latency and speed of the DNS service is more important than the actual download/upload speeds...

It depends on the time of day. Verizon DSL slows down to dial up speeds for me during the afternoon. I'm keeping track of the speeds for when I call to complain. I bet they say it's my fault. mad.gif

Wow that drop is brutal!!! I love how ISP's always think its the end-users fault.

oh my goodness. I had verizon DSL for a few months when I lived somewhere else, it was the only option, and it was HORRIBLE. Slow as a turtle and constantly going in and out. Thank god I moved.

I would take that speed in a second! Actually, I might be paying over $1K to install a solar system with a relay for wireless broadband at that speed. Upload is really all that matters and 885 is really good.

comcast cable-$50
no other option other than dial up....is that really an option??
