Be careful St. Louis photographers who park downtown! It's not even 9 am and had two comments saying it happened to them too.

That sucks, I have a similar story, but from back in MA. I parked my car at a commuter train station for day trip up to Boston. When I came back at night, my window was smashed and my dinky diskman was stolen, which I used because my car had no cd player. Fortunately for me, I had accidentally left my camera bag (just had a canon rebel g back then) in the backseat and that wasn't taken. It's odd what people choose to take and what to leave behind.

That really does suck. I've heard horror stories about DC... Some folks leave notes like, "The doors are unlocked, please don't break the windows."

Alisha,
Sorry to hear about that. Two of my friends had the same thing happen to them while in church at SouthCity.
One broke into her car and stoled her Ipod, the other one had her car stollen and damaged.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I know what is feel like to be violated. I had my car parked right in front where the police was directing traffic for a graduation. They were perfessional thefts because they drilled a hole on the passanger side and stole the the stereo system that was $1500. They stole my son's swim gym bag, all my cds, Ipod and amp. Didn't take the DVD on the roof. I think they couldn't carry it all. The San Jose Police was going to fingerprint but I had alreay touched everything because I was in so much shocked.
But you are right. Police are suppose to PROTECT & SERVE.

What? That was your van? Oops! I'll pay you back the ten dollars next time I see you. But I'm keeping that sweet purse.

I'd file a complaint with the city regarding the operator's lack of phone skills. As to the break in, sorry to hear that. I was downtown last week right off of Washington and felt very uneasy about parking my car there. This will just confirm that I won't do it in the future unless I absolutely have to.

http://www.xanga.com/Lily_PhotographySorry to hear about the troubles, Alisha. Thanks, though, for the heads up! Being relatively new to town, we probably take more risks than we should. It's easy to get complacent. It was very bad in Hawaii (Oahu) as well.

What the crap.
BUT, at least I got a giggle out of Matt's sanitized cursing! I bet if we got him really mad, we might even be able to get him to say "DARN!" (sorry for my pottymouth, Matt)

OMG That sucks!! At least you still have your nav! My husband was on the highway one time late at night and drove by an accident that looked like it just happened. So he tried to call 911 but his phone was screwy and wouldn't let him, so he called me at home to call. When I did, the operator was a jerk to me. She said "Well why didn't HE call if he saw it?" and I told her about his phone and she acted like she didn't even believe me! WTF! We're trying to help here people! I got hung up on, too. Maybe you SHOULD file a complaint!
