A non-L series zoom on a 5D could be a scary thing. Not to mention the huge focal length will most likely be really soft at the edges on the wide end.
I agree with Colin.....24-70 2.8 would be a better choice for only one lens. But always have a back-up.
This is an L series lens. The 5.6 is what concerns me the most about it. I have read the reviews that there is some quality loss but something like that is always really subjective and most of my clients don't see anything larger than an 8x10 as well as most everything can be fixed pretty easy in photoshop is need be
I tend to stay back so whatever single lens would have to at least be 200 if not higher
I used and still use sometimes a 28-135 which is a 3.5-5.6 and it works espcially since I can shoot at 1600 but my 70-200 2.8 is alot easier in the dark. . . hmmm
I think I might get one to try to see how it works out and will respond with the results. I just get tired of switching lenses and feel that I am missing some shots because of the wrong lens and am 100% against carrying more than one camera at a time for whatever reason.
Thanks
