Wow. How wild is this? I'm leaving on March 12th to shoot a wedding in Nigeria and will be back on the 24th. What are the chances of two of us shooting a wedding in Africa in the same month?!?! Congrats. It will be awesome. Do you know much of the type of ceremony it will be? The one I'm shooting is called Igba Nkwu Nwanyi and will be held in a fairly remote village. I bet you are just excited as can be. I've gone from "I can't wait - it's forever away" to now "OMG I don't have enough time to prepare" and everything in between.

I try not to think about it too much, because then I can't sleep or do anything. Then I read your post and it reminds me. Now I'll be up the next 6 hours, mind racing.
I'd love to hear more about the ceremony you will be shooting, the customs and rituals, the people, etc. Here is an explanation of Igba Nkwu Nwanyi. It is the post titled "The Bride Price:"

http://climie.com/post/nigeria/If you haven't gotten any shots you need yet, get them asap. Many of them take 3-4 weeks to reach full effectiveness from what I understand. I put it off as long as possible. I hadn't had a vaccination in forever, and my mind made it out to be much worse than it ended up being. I had 5 shots at once, but could have taken many more.
Do they require a visa to enter Uganda? Getting a visa was the biggest pain so far, but definitely worth the trouble!
Really, congratulations. What an amazing opportunity. Take care of yourself, and stay safe!
