I've been trying to install the Lightroom free trial until I get the real thing, but I keep getting an error message and I can't complete installation. Does anyone know what the problem is? Here's a picture of the actual error message.

I already tried downloading the trial again and running it but that didn't work either. I dunno what's up. =(

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Aaron
I believe the free trial is over.
serenagrace
No, I believe there's a free 30 day trail of the Lightroom 1.0 release.

Hey Serena,
Sorry, I have not idea what could be the cause of that error. However, try turning off any antivirus, antispyware program you may have running and retry the installation. Also, try making sure no other programs are running. Worth a shot.

A pxsetup file? Sounds like a ProShow installer.

I've been having the EXACT same problem.

Did you have the beta installed?
BenIndy
I don't know what the problem is, but did you upgrade to the 4.1 Beta before installing. It was mentioned somewhere that you needed to do that for v1.0 to work right.

It sounds like you got a bad download - I'd erase everything to do with this install file and redownload. The file should not end in exe1 it should just end in exe. I just found the same file on my computer called pxsetup.exe

Also, if you can do a search on your computer for pxsetup - if you find the file right click, press properties, uncheck read only, click apply, click ok and retry the install.

somehow my old database file is corrupt. It finally let me install the new version but my database is brand new too. Sucks!!
