Hi there,

I just received a call from Perfect Wedding Guide (http://www.perfectweddingguide.com) magazine representative and we are meeting for lunch latter this week. I was wondering about their adveritizing prices but he couldn't give me any info nor any pdfs. I think they are in kind of agressive strategy of marketting the magazine since they are new.
So, what do you know about them?
Tracy Rainwater
Their prices are a little high in my opinion. I will check to see if I still have their pricing info.

If I recall their prices are through the roof.

It wasn't cost effective for me.

Definitely not worth it!

I agree. Total waste of money. I looked into them when I was living in Denver, and talked with some of the folks who had ads with them, and every one of them told me it wasn't worth the cost.

PWG is the single biggest wasteful wedding expenditure I've ever made. Not one booking from an entire year of advertising. Nobody but advertisers actually see the book.

I think you nailed it Marc. That's pretty much how advertising goes in a word of mouth industry. Print exposure can definitely help provide vendors with confidence in you even if you haven't worked with them. But its honestly a poor place to start booking clients.

In our area - upstate/CNY/WNY PWG was actually transformed into the Syracuse Wedding Magazine through Wheeler Communications. These guys ROCK. It's the reason for about 15-20 bookings a year for us. As far as I know everyone in our area sees it. They are put in bridal shops, given to every bride at bridal fairs, etc. PWG is HUGE not a startup - they've been around as long as I have been shooting.

I think like all advertising it varies by the area and by how your ad is. We have a full page ad - our 1/4 page ad was ok, but the full page ad ROCKS and they gave us the cover for one edition which helped business too.
