Bravo...this is a fun thread!

Dawn and Bob are indeed an inspiration to us and so many others. After spending quite a bit of time with them in Texas a couple months ago, it's obvious to me that the mission aspect of their lives has had a huge impact on their business. Clearly they've been blessed, in their personal lives and in their business. Do yourself a favor and get to know them.

Could you possibly be any sweeter? Seriously, Garrett, you have gone out of your way to comment on our behalf and we are so very grateful for your friendship!!! Can't wait to meet Joy at WPPI.

Have an amazing day!!!! (as Sarah Barlow would say)

Hugs!!!
~ Dawn

I need to get over here to OSP more often. I need to biuld more relationships like you all have - so inspirational.

We are a hubby/wife team. It started out that I helped Joe turn his photography into a business and go digital. Then, the more I played with his camera, the more I wanted my own. I finally got my own a year ago. I have been second-shooting/co-shooting weddings since then. I second-shoot at e-sessions and portraits when I am not assisting. I usually back way up and get totally different angles when I can get them without Joe in the way. wink.gif

I always revert the lead to Joe. He still has a day job, so I do everything else biz and post-process related. We also have 4 kids (age 15, 11, 5 and 3), so I am on overload lately. Yesterday, he took over and returned phone calls to help my load. At least he can use the phone to help out while he's at work.

I stumbled onto my own niche before I even had my own camera. In order to practice in real time things I had been learning from Joe, but not in a contract situation like a wedding - I asked one of our maternity clients if I could photograph her birth. She said yes and history was made. I LOVE LABOR!!!!! I will NOT have any more babies myself though. This is a perfect way to still experience labor and delivery without having to take a baby home. And I even still get to fall in love with the baby as they continue with portrait sessions. Cool!

Can't wait until we can get to a point where we are full time and Joe can take over some of the post-processing duties. Our original intent when we went into business in 2004 (officially) was to take it slow until the baby goes to school. Pictage ruined that. smile.gif Now, I feel like I'm driving with my foot on the brake to keep it slower until he goes to school. That's another 2.5 years away though. Maybe the birth photography will be the area that turns our whole business plan/life around. That is my prayer.
