Well guys, since my husband decided that I should have my own screen name, and kicked me off of his, I though I would take a moment to "inroduce" myself (has anyone else noticed how that is spelled??)
I am Amber, the better half of the Geek team. We live here in super rainy Chattanooga with our two incredibly beautiful children. I recently quit my day job (well actually, I haven't exactly quit yet, but am on an extended maternity leave, and am not planning to return!) and will be doing the mom thing and photography full tme... Nathan is actually the one who knows what he is doing... I am just along for the ride (but I absolutely love it!!)
Is that enough introduction???

Welcome Amber you are going to meet lots of nice people here.
Amber letting go of that other job is the best decision you'll ever make. My wife did the same thing after she had our son 6yrs. ago & she's never looked back, and you know she does'nt regret it one bit.

And neither do I.
There is nothing like doing what you love, in this case photography & having your spouse & kids there with you. Now that's living it up!
Cheers,
ThomasAlan

Hey Amber! There are some questions in the "Fun Stuff" section that you'll need to answer before we let you in the inner circle!
LOL - just kidding!

Welcome, Amber! I feel like I already know you and Nathan through this forum. My wife quit her full time job a few years ago and has been working part time with a great flexible schedule. She loves that I have a home studio and I've been thinking about getting her more involved in our business, maybe shooting candids at the weddings. I'm just afraid that she'll no longer think of me as a "cool photographer" once she discovers her own talents!

I assure you, I still think of Nathan as the "cool photographer"... I am just lucky enough that he lets me along for the ride!!!
You should go for it and let her play with a camera a bit... you might both be surprised...

In all reality, I we wouldn't have the business we do without Amber's expertise... One of the great things about having her there is the female insight, as well as her vast knowledge of wedding style, etiquette, etc. She can really be a bride's best friend, which works well, because she is probably the vendor that will be spending the most time with the bride that day!!!
