I'm just wondering how often you update your equipment inventory form with your insurance. Do you do it every time after buying new gear? Or do you do it, say, once a year?

Say I just bought the Mark III, and didn't update my equipment inventory with my insurance, and it gets dropped while shooting from a helicopter (heaven forbid). If it's not listed with my insurance, would that not be covered??

Hmmm... any plans you'd like to tell us about, Greg? laughing.gif

I bet you'd have trouble getting them to pay up if it wasn't listed. My policy covers a little beyond what I currently own, so adding a new lens last year was easy and a no-brainer. I'd play it safe and call your insurance company and ask about adding it. Usually they just grab the serial number and info over the phone, add it to the policy, and send a new statement if necessary. Worth the peace of mind!

Ooh! Ooh!! My dad is in insurance, and he STRONGLY recommends updating your equipment list everytime you buy something new.
Bonus if you provide serial numbers, makes, and models, as well as photographs of your equipment.

If you buy new lens caps... don't bug your agent.
If you get a Mark III, call me right away. wink.gif
