Looks funeralish since it's so dark. I don't like the redness to it but I love the overall 'feel' to the shot. If it were slightly more desaturated I think I'd like it more..

Hehe.. funeralish, I love the word and that's exactly what I love about it.
I never thought I was going to say this but I'm starting to get tired of working on super clean images all the time... I'll start to put some effort on creating 'not perfect' images... not that mine are but you know what I mean.

Thanks Matt

RODOLFO!!

Ooooooooh, I LOVE it -- the slide show with that music and that tea look is just AWESOME and sexy and dark and unique and absolutely wonderful!

Some images that really caught me:
Tattoo legs (whoa!)
#7: bride and groom shadow on wall (cool and well done)
#9: dancing, totally no focus (I just LOVE this, combined with the feel of the show)
#32: groomsmen hands folded (serene)
And I have to say I love the bridesmaid praying shot too. Not at all funeralish when you look at the whole package. I mean so COOL because like NObody would have THIS album sitting on their coffeetable.

Oh, wait a minute, I'm sorry. We're supposed to say something critical in these posts, aren't we. Hmmm.

Sorry. Can't do it. I simply LOVE it.

(Robin needs to use that song!!!! "Bellisimo" how cool is THAT?)

Amen to the "imperfect" shot.

While I love a good clean, bright, airy photograph, I often miss a bit of moodiness, darkness, blur and grain. Some of the images I love the most would look totally out of place as a single shot in a portfolio full of super "perfect" photos, but I really want to get more of that kind of tasty mood in my stuff.

+1

I like the bW tone and the noise. Very cool. I don't like the vignette. Maybe a little too much.

Check out Doug Landreth if you want to try to get your pictures a little more crusty!

There was a cool thread not too long ago about layering with different photographs of textures. I wish I had more time to do stuff like that.

Hey Rudy -

Love the slideshow.

Did you do the customization on the ShowIt controls?

Sean
April Rocha
Good question Sean. I wondered the same thing.

Thanks Sean.

I'm pretty sure you can customize the controls on Showit but I didn't do it. The controls change in the new version of Showit.

Go to http://www.showitfast.com/downloads.php and download version Pro 2.5 beta 5. You can use the activation key for the previous version so it's free... where have you been? ;-)

Hi April.
I did this with Photoshop some time ago trying to mimic some prints I saw from Roberto Cavalli. I suck at creating actions so the process never made it into one... but I recently bought the Totally Rad Actions and the Boutwells have some very similar ones and the final quality on a large file is much much better than mine.

Hope it helps.

I agree with Matt about the images being so dark for a wedding (well I guess to some it may be appropriate). Maybe less red and more grain would give it a different feel. I like the direction you're taking this though. I appreciate taking a break from all the over-saturated stuff. Thanks for sharing!
