I can't figure out how to show the extensions on files. Can you help?

Adam,
Double click to open up a folder and go to Tools -> Options on the menu bar of that window. Click on the view tab. Under the "Advanced Settings" uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types".

Thanks, David. That worked.

Another question, why is my cursor not disappearing when I type? It's really annoying when I click on a field to edit, and then I have to move the mouse to see what I'm typing. Is this just the way Windows works, or is there a preference I can change for that?

Hi Adam,
Glad it worked out. Regarding your second question, there is a preference in XP you can turn on and off. Found under start -> control panel -> mouse. There should be a "pointer options" tab. In there, under visibility, you can "Hide pointer while typing." It should be enabled by default. I found that it take at least 3 letters to be type before the cursor actually hides. So, don't expect it to hide on the first key press. Hope that's specific enough to help you.

I checked and it's on the default -- to hide. I guess I just didn't notice it or just moved the cursor away. Thanks for your help.
