I just had a bride contact me, she currently has a date in Oct. locked in with me for her wedding but, she's tossing around the idea of a destination wedding in Mexico for this summer, instead. She wants to know what I would charge her to do the wedding.
Ah! I have been practically foaming at the mouth to do a wedding somewhere like Mexico. I think their budget has it's limits, so I'm not comfortable with charging tons to travel, especially because I REALLY would love to do this!
Any advice?

Don't be surprised if you get a "sticker shock" response when you give her the cost of travel.

at the very least I would charge cost....probably somewhere around $1000, most photographers mark that up to take into account lost work hours and incidentals.

Feel free to work with your package price if you really want to do it despite your cost, but I would be firm with wanting all the travel costs up front when they book.
