Just finished up work from a corporate gig last week. Three days... in and out... NO ALBUMS. Companies are starting to look for documentary photography for their events. The CEOs are seeing their daughter's wedding photos and saying, "Geesh, our grip and grin photos aren't really holding up that well..."

Thanks for sharing. Great candids.

My day job is for an agriculture company and they are slowly realizing the value in something other than posed shots as well.

I know it's not very glamorous, but it's good work. For those of you who run a little thin in the off-season, it's a good way to boost the account and a great time to practice for a wedding.

What's the deal, Shane, if you don't mind my asking. Shoot, slide show and burn? How much shooting, how many hours, how many images? Thanks for sharing. I get asked to do these things and I never NEVER handle it right upfront.

I'm just a farm boy at heart (we sold our family farm when I was 20)... I skipped all the people shots and went straight for the tractors!

Yeah, it's shoot, slideshow and burn. Normal rates $2,500 dayrate or $350 an hour. CD burn fee of $500 per day of shoot. Out-of-town gigs always get charged the dayrate, which has a 10-hour max. Group pics posted on pictage.

Wow! The prices... like a wedding! So when you say shoot, slideshow and burn, does that mean on the spot and no post processing? Sorry, am sssllloooowwww rolleyes.gif

Cool stuff, Shane....I did some corporate work recently and got my images printed in a local newspaper. You just never know when you're going to bump into someone important. smile.gif

Thanks for the info!!! I've been lucky to get $400 for these events. From now on I'm following the School of Shane!!!!!!!! thumbsup.gif

I did the same thing for my company I work for. They were very happy. Got $100 gift card. smile.gif

No, I always do post. But sometimes they want the pics in a hurry. So, I'll stay up at the hotel making the slideshow.

EDIT: Think about the budget for weddings... most are between $20,000 and $40,000, right? These corporate events often have budgets in the MILLIONS. So, why shouldn't we price accordingly?
