Okay, I have only being trying to learn photography for a month. We bought a digital camera about 2 weeks ago. I have been practicing and learning and posting to learn more. Well.... I decided to send a few pictures via internet to a lab down the street to print. (just curious how they would look) I sent the order in and hopped into the shower. A few minutes later I come out. My daughter is confused. She said the lab called and won't print my order. Confused myself I call up the lab to figure out what is going on. The lady on the other end said, "I am sorry we can not print these pictures for you. It is obvious these were taken by a pro and we would need their permission to print them for you." I busted out laughing. I explained that I took the shots and was not a pro as of yet. She asked if I could bring in the memory card to prove I took them. I couldn't it had been cleared out. Long story short...
They made me sign a waiver of liability before they would give me my prints, and produce a business card. *rolls on floor laughing* So...if I ever decide to sue myself for my own copyright they are covered. smile.gif It would have been even funnier if I wasn't sick and it wasn't a MAJOR inconvience. And these pro pictures that they are talking about...I will attach them for you guys to see. Hope this makes someone else laugh. laughing.gif

Glad someone else thought so! I am not sure about the client for life part though. It wasn't really done in a flattering way, more accusatory (that I was trying to rip off the REAL photographer). I wanted to say "Common, you gotta be kidding me" But they were dead serious. huh.gif

wub.gif Thanks for the encouragement Amber. I felt really good when my friends started calling telling me how much they love the pictures I have taken. smile.gif I realized how glad I was they hadn't seen everyone's stuff in here. smile.gif On a serious note... I had no idea there were hazards to doing photography until the above practice shoot. Why didn't you warn me??? I am not sure HOW...but about 40 minutes into the shoot I felt like something was biting me on my back... You would have loved to photograph the next few minutes. I started hoping around like a monkey trying to get at it. I then asked my daughter to look down the back of my shirt to see if she saw anything... INSTEAD she guickly lifts my shirt up for the whole park to see and finds a couple of RED ANTS that were biting me. One guy was riding by on a bike started to stare at the scene and verd off the sidewalk into the mud. I was totally embarassed... A couple of girls came up to ask if I was a pro. photographer. I blushed and said, "Why, did I handle that professionally?" Red ant bits hurt for the record. w00t.gif My girls, my nephew, and my neice were laughing so hard...
