Hello,

I am new to this forum and currently live in Saint Louis, Missouri. I've been in Saint Louis for about a year and a half, but I'm originally from Sunny San Diego. The seasons here are interesting and enjoyable, but I sure do miss the beaches! I enjoy candid photography and I especially enjoy working with children, they are so unpredictable smile.gif
I'm looking forward in learning from you all.

She ROCKS!!!!!
WHEN she moves back to San Diego, I'm going to make her join forces with me so I don't have to compete against her!!!! smile.gif

Welcome to OSP. You'll probably like it here. Most folks do.

We moved from San Diego, too. Well, Oceanside, really. But I worked in Sorrento Valley. Which is sort of San Diego. I'm so glad I'm not in the High Tech industry anymore. Funny, my Mother-in-law lived in Rancho Santa Fe and moved here to Ohio a month before we did. Kind of by accident.

The seasons are nice, but I miss the mountains. You can always see the mountains. You only see the beach if you go there. Right now I could do without all the snow. I finally finished shoveling the driveway. But normally I really like it. It's nice having four seasons instead of San Diego's two -- sun and fog. laughing.gif

Actually, what I miss most is Legoland. We had annual passes for the first four years it was open. Loved being able to take the kids for a couple hours and not feel like we had to stay all day.

Didn't mean to write a book. Have fun here and stay a while.

Welcome!

And do you miss San Diego as much as I do???

Welcome to OSP.

By now I'm sure you're used to "where'd you go to high school?" To do well in this market...make something up that sounds like it's in Missouri...Parkway East, Hazelwood Northwest, McLuer South, St. Charles Central, Fort Zumwalt East...and if you want the high-end brides...the answer should be "Horton-Watkins" or something that sounds very parochial. (Though I've never figured out why St. Mary's is a boys school and St. Joseph's is a girls school...)

Geez Dan, a simple hello and welcome....

Dan's a great guy, we all love him here.

Welcome to OSP and to St. Louis! But watch out for the big whishing noise...it's your entire day going past you because you've spend all day hanging out here. (does that sound like a voice of experience? Yeap!! But I love it here!)

Hey, if you're interested in other St. Louis photography stuff check out www.PPAGSL.com. It's a local group of photographers that get to gether every month or so. Everyone is welcome.

Hello from Kirkwood!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome rolleyes.gif

Being in Saint Louis has been great for my family, there are many beautiful sites here. I'm really looking forward to the spring and going to the Botanical Gardens. I did get the high school question a few times, but not too much now and finally got the reason why. My husband is finishing up his MDiv at Covenant Seminary and has about a year and a half to go, so ya never know Carey! I would love to work with you again!

Thanks again for the greetings...I can see how I loose track of time here!

Kelly, Nice to see your post in here. I have been posting in the forum, but haven't gotten around to entering in the "New to OSP" thread yet.

We actually met a few weks ago at CPC. You and your family sat in front of my wife and I. I introduced myself and complimented your husband on having such polite girls. Your family is beautiful. A few days later your name came up during a conversation with Owen at the church and he mentioned you were from San Diego. My wife went to high school at Poway and lived in RB. I am from a little farther North in Newhall (Santa Clarita. Ok, a lot farther North).

My wife also graduated with an MAC from Covenant so through her and her friends I feel I have a degree by absentia from there after listening to all the stories.

As for the High School question, when people ask you, whatever you say don't say you went to school in California. I got a unch of weird looks until I found out there is a California, Missouri.

We should get together sometime, I'd love to pick your brain on some of your shots.

Hey Matt,

Yes, I remember you. Email me or look for me on Sunday. I teach the first service and attend the second.
