The local Chamber currently does not have a photographer on board which is the only reason I'm considering it. Can any of you attest to joys or horrors of joining such an organization?
Thanks in advance.

I have a buddy that tells me it's a good idea. You have to be really into networking and schmoozing to get something out of it though. And who knows, it could lead to different open doors. If it doesn't cost you anything and if it can't hurt you, then why not?

Actually, it costs $125 a year to join this "networking club." But I live in a small town in which joining the chamber could potentially increase my visibility. And you're right, Greg. The different open doors could lead to different avenues of photography like corporate events, sports, products, etc.
Hmmm....maybe I just answered my own question. This is going to take lots of prayer.

I myself am also considering joining the local Chamber, & I've had some of the same thoughts.
Due to the fact that there are no other photographers who have joined, I'll be the first & hope it's worth it.
I just want a basic membership, I still can't afford those high end membership fees.
At any rate I think being a part of that clique would not be a bad idea.
Cheers,
