I entered the Wedding Knot Contest this year, and was wondering if anyone has gotten emails as to the results. I was under the impression that I would recieve an email if I won, and was assuming the results would be in the months issue. Is this correct? Thanks.

Someone here announced they had a winning image, so I guess they've already contacted the winners. The results are in the APRIL issue.

When I won, I didn't know I'd won until the issue came out and someone called me congratulating me. With me, though, I'd entered with a credit card number back before the entry deadline, fast forward a couple months, someone steals my credit card, so the number gets invalidated and I get a new one. I had no reason to believe they had not run the entry fee yet, so I forget about it. Then I get a call from the contest coordinator just days before it's supposed to be published, who starts off sounding congratulatory. Something like - "Marc, I have the honor of telling you... ummm... hold on.... yeah.... you're credit card has been declined." So I explain that it had been stolen, etc, and give him a new number. Then he says, "Thanks. Good luck in the contest." So it turns out that had to be the "You Won" call, except that I hadn't paid my fee. It was close enough that at the very least, the image was locked down in the layout, and most likely had already gone to press. So if I ever enter again, I'm sending a check. smile.gif

The prizes took forever to all get here, too.

Yea but it is nice when the prizes come in a little at a time like that though Marc. It is like a huge gift every so often. It was some awesome stuff too.

Yeah, there was some cool stuff. I sold the D70s Kit, used the Albums Inc certificate. I kept the carbon fiber Gitzo with the sweet magnesium ball head. I'm trying to sell the Kata bag. I have enough bags. The Metz, well, I guess it'll make a good backup. Nobody wants a non-dedicated flash for that kind of money. The film, that was the funniest. 100 rolls of film. What am I supposed to do with that? Who was I going to sell it to? Which size and emulsion should I get so I had a chance of selling it? I asked if they could give me the equivalent in Acros 4x5 Quickloads, which I can use, and they DID! They sent me 240 sheets of Acros 4x5 Quickload. That was sweet. smile.gif
