I'm curious as to the reality of this topic? Do Macs really outnumber PC's, or in the end are there still more photographers using PC's?

I use both. PC for accounting, forms, internet, email, and the Mac for production/images.

Only reason I use Windows is (in Parallels) to listen to one radio station that doesn't like Macs for their streaming audio (and that's only when I'm not in ATL) -- so I don't think that counts for "both".

Both. Mostly because I had a 64bit PC. Waiting to get a Mac Pro with 8 cores. Also waiting for CS3.

I was a graphic designer before kids and started with macs and I'm sticking with it, it's what I know.

I use Macs, but I also have Parallels installed so that I can use quickbooks.

Why not just run the Mac version of Quickbooks?
We're Mac all the way.

Hey all! I'm in the process of doing a little research for Photographer's Office as we figure out where to take it next, and I wanted to see if we could get any more input on the above poll? Thanks!

I put mac, because I would prefer to do everything on my mac. I only use my pc for excel. So, when apple comes out with a spreadsheet program, I probably won't do anything on my pc.

I bought a MacBook Pro last summer and have barely touched my PC since.

I've been a die hard PC fan for a long time, but...as soon as my computer fund reaches it's goal...I'm jumping over the fence and buying my first 20" iMac. I can't wait!

I used to be die hard PC/Photoshop/PsP guy. However since I started shooting raw and I've gotten better with levels and curves I've started to just use Linux/Gimp/UFRaw/ImageMagick.
Yes I know... it's crazy, but Gimp isn't really that bad. Most importantly with GIMP I can save JPG's at even better quality than photoshop, though I archive as a 24bit png. UFRaw is amazing for processing RAWs and it remembers your settings from shot to shot so you only have to do minor tweaks as you go. I use ImageMagick with some custom scripts i've written to handle making the thumbnails and sizing and dropping in their respective folders, orienting anything that needs it, quick watermarking the images, and doing a final resize..
There are still things I miss..
1) CS2's Surface blur - There is nothing better for evening skintones.
2)All those glorious cybia filters for CS2.
3) Sharpness slider in Bridge.
4) Color Saturation sliders in bridge
5) PaintshopPro's PseudoIR filter and Clarify filters.
(The new version (PsP photo XI) has this awesome temperature slider so if you shoot jpegs you can fix temp easily)
But other than those things (which i can do in other ways) I really don't miss much. I can still clone, dodge, burn, sharpen etc. And best of all it's free and legal. Though i'm sure that you guys do actually buy photoshop which I respect (no sarcasm).
I'd have to say I figure i'm the only person with this type of setup, but hey differen't strokes for diffferent folks right?

I know, I'm just holding out for the apple spreadsheet program. It's the only thing I'm really missing, so I don't want to give my money to microsoft if I don't have to (which I don't as of now). Seriously, I could go broke trying to buy all of the current software and it's updates for both a mac and pc.

Why can't it be a little more simple? It's just crazy to have so many programs to buy.

We're PC, but we're seriously considering a Mac as our next computer.

Technically, I use both, but seeing that I turn my PC on 4 times a year to activities I can't do on my Mac for whatever reason (do a morph or view a video) - I guess I'm really just a Mac guy.

NeoOffice -- OpenOffice for Mac
And the new upcoming release of OpenOffice is supposed to have a native Mac version as well, if I recall correctly.
