I have an old video camera from "back in the day" when I was teaching school. It is a Sony TRV130. I actually used it with my 3rd graders to film a news show each week and we edited it on the computer. But is has been 4 or 5 years since I've even touched this thing and I've forgotten everything.

1) I can't find the cord/cable that goes from the camera to the computer and need to order one. Is that called the DV cable? I found one (if that is it) on ebay, but would like to have one sooner. Is that something you can just go buy somewhere like Radio Shack or does it need to be specific to your make/model?

2) Back in the day...I had to order a fire wire card or something like that for my computer to be able to edit. How do I know if I have that on my computer? It seems like I remember it coming with that - but I'm clueless. Do I need to order anything for that?

Anyone?

Take the video camera with you to Radio Shack and you should be able to get what you need. (you'll have to know what your computer input requirements are -- USB, firewire, analog/RCA, etc.). But if you aren't sure...take a picture of the computer inputs and show it to the Radio Shack employee.

Thanks Dan.

Can anyone tell me how to tell if my computer has whatever it needs?
