Thank you guys for those few that knew about what was going on with my mother last week, and thank you for your prayers.
For those that don't know what happened, my mother had to have an emergency surgery to remove a huge tumor that grew inside her lung cavity. The tumor had lodged between her heart, an artery, and her lung. And it had grown to the size of a large man's fist, hence the need for immediate removal.
On Tuesday morning she went into the surgery knowing that she was at great risk, as she is 77 years old and her recovery was uncertain. We and many others continually prayed for her that day and everyday since. She came out of the operation in critical condition and had to be in CVU (equivalent to ICU) for a couple days. And boy it was really heart-wrenching to see her with all kinds of tubes attached, and a breathing tube was in her mouth which made her almost unrecognizable. Thank God they were eventually able to stabilize her, and from then on she got on the road to a quick recovery. To shorten the story, she went from being in critical condition to walking around on her own in less than two days! She is now back home (discharged early because of her speedy recovery) to the hospital staff's surprise.
To me, it just goes to show what prayers can do. And I'd like to ask for more of it for her continued healing.

Praise the Lord your mom is ok!
My dad had surgery on his eye yesterday (detached retina) and he's doing really well...but I just found out that a past client is having some issues with a cancerous lump on his neck so everyone keep praying!

For you visual people it's the groom from this wedding...

Gregorio: I pray that your mom continues to have a healthy and speedy recovery!
Prayer is definitely powerful -- Megan and I lost our first pregnancy last summer, and prayer not only helped us get through the most difficult experience in our lives, but also blessed us with another pregnancy shortly thereafter (6 months and counting!)

Thank you all again for being concerned. We had a special Mothers Day yesterday - special just because my mom was there with us - she is strong, healthy, happy, and recovering well. She just acts like a baby when we're around so we give lots of hugs and kisses (I know she does that for the hugs and kisses).
It was also really nice because this is the first year for my wife to be celebrated as a mom.
Anyway, I hope you all had a good mothers day as well.
