^^isn't that just one of the cutest things babies do??

c&c apprecited. this was my first 'baby pshoot,' and was really quick and informal (haha, don't worry, it wasn't a paid shoot tongue.gif).

i do have a question, too. you know how babies sometimes have those blotchy undertones? i'm not sure what to do with that in pshop...how to smooth out the complexion. any tips?

thanks.

Very nice Rebekah. I like the second one. You can see the dads hands on the babies back in the mirror. I like reflections. It shows more than one angle and sometimes catches emotion you would not otherwise have.

All of my babies have had very red blotchy baby skin, so I usually bring down the red saturation and that is a superquick fix that helps. You can also get more creative in photoshop - Kubota has a good action for good skin (makeup artist, maybe?) but I'll have to load up PS to see exactly which one it is. Portraiture plug-in helps a lot as well, but costs a decent amount for just one plug-in.

I also find that my 20d makes skin look a lot splotchier than my 5d, so some of it may be the camera.

And if none of those help - stick with B&W smile.gif

Thanks for sharing!

cute kid.. watch the light.. follow the light.. let the light bath you.. its all about the light.. like the last photo.. her face is in the shadow.. and its a bit of an awkward angle.. could have been she was just moving..... for the skin, i'd try boutwell studio's www.totallyradactions.com they have an action for blotchy skin.. it works pretty well..
