I'm currently working Austin & the surrounding cities, basically my start in photogrpahy is something out of the Twilight Zone, you know how you run across certain things that touch you early in life but for some weird reason you pass them by, & ignore them. Then as the years go by those things keep crossing your path, I mean they are right in front of you the whole time & you just don't pay attention to them. Then one day out of nowhere you just pick it up & realize it's what you should have been doing all along. That's how I feel about my start.
I was about 24 when I bought my first camera & took up photography, man time flies when your having fun.
Thanks

Thanks guys I feel at home already. I shoot with Canon10d's & Canon lenses. Your welcome to visit both my site & my journal. I'm still working on my site & considering adjusting my prices & adding some high end packages once you all have a chance to view it, give me some feed back regarding any changes I should make. It would be nice to hear some ideas.
Thanks,

Glad you're in the neighborhood Carlos!
I'm actually shooting a wedding later this summer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. You'll have to educate me on how to do Texas right! I'm really looking forward to it.
We might even be doing a little something for other photographers that weekend. If it comes to fruition, I'll be sure to tell you guys all about it.
In the mean time, welcome!!

Guys you are all being so sweet. I can truly say I'm feeling the love here
Alan, the image is of my daughter Cassandra, the Smithsonian had their 2nd annual photography contest & I submitted that image in the Americana category, out of 27,000 submissions I placed in the top 10 for the Americana category. There is a total of five category's. Anyhoo

sad to say I did not win either the 1st place for my category or the grand prize. I did win an HP printer for my troubles.
I like sushi as well, my wife can't stand it. So I never really have an opportunity to really dig in, unless I'm out with friends.
Thanks,
Carlos Hernandez

Carlos-
welcome my man. where in the OH were you born? I've been in Columbus for the past 6 months for an internship at The Columbus Dispatch and I really like a lot about this place. Coming from Santa Barbara I really appreciate the diversity both socio-economic and ethnically. I have seen and understood a little more about God through seeing a different reflection of Him.
But man... Columbus no tiene Mexican comida...nada. Baja Fresh is kinda the best thing running here... sad times!
later skater,

Garrett,
I was born in Fremont, up north Sandusky county. The last time I was up there in Ohio was in 94' & my 2nd daughter was born while we were there. I have a lot of child hood memories, as a matter of fact my brother was telling me about 2 days ago that he'd like to go back just to go & revisit some of our child hood homes. I was kinda surprised
he mentioned that, all this time I thought I was the only one interested in returning for a visit. Who knows maybe one day we'll return.
I think God is awesome in how he allows you to see his handy work in others. What is even greater is that you've allowed yourself to see it. Keep your spiritual eyes open & you'll see greater things.
It is sad but the further North you go the further away from authentic Mexican food you get. Keep your eyes open for little hole in the walls, these small Mexican places offer up some good grub. I'm sure you'll find at least a couple in Columbus.
Adios,
Katherine
